Just came across another fic where Bill Adama's a vampire. And he has a vampire daughter. And he's the frakking prince of Caprica City. What the frak???
I think I'll have to transfer my agents into Freelance or something because now I have three BSG fics on my plate. >.
Cos I've found two BSG fics with OCs in them, and I want to know if any of you think they're Mary Sues or just borderline. Or even not at all.
The first one is Lt. Kameron O'Neill, who has a spiffy viper.
The second one is Lauren, farm girl turned pilot.
And there was a definite Suefic I found on marysues, but the accompanying story's gone and the Suethor's being all defensive-bitchy ("No no no, my character is not a Mary Sue even if she married Lee and is Prez Roslin's niece! No no no!"). Go figure.
I'm mainly asking this because I'd like to do some missions in that fandom. Like some temporary transfers and such. :]
I used to like BSG, but I've sort of fallen off the wagon in the past... er... four, five years? ^^;
The first one is almost certainly a 'Sue, though. I mean, come on. Kameron = boyish-sounding ordinary name changed to make it look cooler -- when was the last time you encountered someone named Kameron? I'll grant I don't remember naming conventions for the canon, but it doesn't seem likely. O'Neill just makes me think of Jack O'Neill from SG1, but anyway...
The waterfall of soft wavy brown hair is about five marks against her, as far as I'm concerned.
I can't say as to the second one, though she definitely seems at least very borderline, just from the way it starts out.
I am suddenly reminded that I owe you a 'fic. (Aragorn/Arwen post-war fluff, wasn't it?)
I'm having issues with it, but I'm sure I'll put it together eventually. (Just seriously don't expect anything over a thousand words, I don't think I can manage that. ^^;)
Samuel and Kat, right? I have it drawn, just not posted. >.
Well, I don't know much about naming conventions as well, but I'm sure Kameron is not much of a choice name for a kid. But then, this is the canon where people are named Leland, Doral, and Six. ;]

Leland totally just made me think of Lelouch, Six could be put up to translation/strange parents -- I mean, I've been looking through Japanese names lately (long story) and there's far too many that seem to be made of number+son/daughter. o.O
I have no explanation for Doral.
The others seem fairly normal, though...
Laura's daughter. Sue is, of course, Prez Roslin's daughter. Her blood is spiffy. And she's apparently the most be-yoot-iful teenaged girl Laura's ever seen. *eyeroll*
No two ways about it.

Every fandom gets its vampire!fics. And other horrible ones.
But then again, sometimes you run into the ones who totally make all the others worth it. One goodfic is worth probably at least twenty badfics.
By the way, I actually do have something for you. Only I've no idea what to do with it now. >.> Help?
That's true. I've PPC'd the Vamp!fic and the Kameron O'Neill fic. :]
Already PPC'd? o.O I feel positively sloth-like now. But good! Those needed it. Grr.
(Also, yes, it did take me about five minutes to figure out what you meant by pointing above. ^^; )
I guess my heart's still too soft in terms of BSG. Cos it's my new fandom and all...
