So, yes, it appears that sometime this year a sequel musical to Phantom of the Opera, set on Brooklyn's Coney Island, will be opening. It will be set ten years after the original.

I don't care if Andrew LLoyd Webber is composing; stories have a beginning, middle, and end, and if you try to change that, you'd have to to a DAMN good job to keep from spoiling the tragic poignance of the original. This is how The Matrix died and what soured Pirates of the Caribbean. You'd think they'd have NOTICED by now.
