Here's a vibrospork.
Uh. Hi! I'm Piper. I'm an incurable lurker, a computer geek with a huge soft spot for 1960's hacker and open-source culture (Jargon file, anyone?), and occasional lover of a truly disgusting number of random fandoms (Teen Titans, OUATIM, Death Note, Merlin, Numb3rs, Digimon, SE Lain, etc. ad nauseum). I've been a fan of the PPC for a long time. In any case, since I've come to a standstill on my attempts to get my older computer to run Linux, I've decided to take some time to hang out here and pretend to myself that I'm actually gonna write a spinoff of my own! So here I am. :)
*gives you sharpe, pointy object of choice* I've read some of the stuff on Jargon file. It's interesting stuff. Anyway, welcome to the PPC! Please leave your sanity at the door. You won't need it here.
~Zoe~
I love open source software, particularly Linux (even though it was my ex who introduced me)!
So have some chocolate as a welcome gift.
A bottle of Amasec (it's a rather interesting alcoholic beverage, you can mix it with bleeprin and get Bleepasec), and a compact electronic book storage system with a crank generator. It is much easier to carry around than a bunch of books. All you have to do is download the books, open up the proper one, and then conduct a Canon Exorcism on the possessed characters.
Welcome to the PPC. Have a Squickbrella. It's like an umberella, but it shields you from Squick.
'Ello, tiny person! Have some flame-broiled Suenicorn and a coconut. I'm not exactly sure why; it is just a thing that I do.
Here, have a graduated cylinder! *tosses*
Have a Prinny suit. *goes into Copy and Paste Capt. Exposition mode* It increases stats (in an RPG sense), may or may not come with complimentary Prinny bombs and a pair of swords, and makes you say "-dood" at the end of every sentence. It makes people explode when thrown, but that's... usually... only a problem in NIS videogame canons and similar games. Basically, games where people can be tossed around anytime, by anyone. (It's amusing to see the biggest normal enemies being carried by the smallest creatable characters in Disgaea, where the suits are from. Testing on the Final Final Boss, Baal, has not been attempted yet.)
P.S. What does OUATIM stand for? Doesn't ring a bell, for some reason.
Thanks! I'll uh, have to make sure not to get tossed around while wearing it. ^^; OUATIM stands for Once Upon A Time In Mexico. I really should have spelled it out, but I was just too lazy.
...Dood. :D
Have a box of hand grenades. They come in three varieties; tinsel, glitter and confetti. (although if you ask REALLY nicely I'll give you one that has all three)
Anyhow, welcome to the board person-who-has-probably-known-about-the-PPC-way-longer-than-me!

Ooh, Merlin and Death Note! Cool!
I gift you with a coxcomb, in a color of your choice. It's a sort of funny hat. Welcome to the PPC!
Welcome, welcome! Here, have an egg whisk. It's shiny, gold-plated, and whisks not only eggs but author wraiths and spambots as well! Use it for good and not much evil.
Welcome to the insanity! Enjoy your stay.
