Crashing Down: Chapter Sixteen -- With Fire
In which loyalties shift, movies are quoted, and character death occurs.
Any and all comments are of course welcome. :P

Very nice. The SO's comment at the end was great.
Unless of course, the opposite of leaving the Bracket Fungus and denouncing him as a spawn of Chaos in this Multiverse is getting closer to him and acknowledging him as a vessel of the Emperor's will in that Multiverse. Hmm... Food for tought?
The Dark is Rising for the win. I really need to read those again. I can't remember the rest of the verse. "Three from the ??? and three from the track"?
My fencer-and-history-buff brother would probably point out that there isn't much room for talking in a real fight, but of course the PPC runs on Narrative Law more than physics, so it's all good. {= )
On an unrelated note, how many PPC couples are you responsible for creating? Seems like a good many.
~Neshomeh, enjoying as always.
Which can either refer to the people present at the Midsummer Tree (Bran, Will and Merriman from the Circle, the three kids from the Track or the world), or the Signs themselves (three obtained from members of the Old Ones, and three from other sources -- Iron, Wood and Fire from the Circle, I believe). Yes, I read the books several times. No, I haven't read them in years. Yes, I still remember the poems in their entirety.
When it comes to fighting, both of the participants in the duel were trained in LotR-verse, where chatting during fights is very common. So yes, it really is down to high Narritavium concentration.
Ummm... lots and lots? :P There's even more in the End of the Beginning stories. I'm just an incurable romantic, it seems.

Nice chapter. Now it's back to waiting for an update... Which reminds me: Are Origins and Lofty Skies going to be empty for much longer? I've been wanting to read about those parts of PPC history for some time.
I'm handling each of the Tangled Webs stories individually; after Crashing Down is finished I'll move onto Origins, which will /hopefully/ be quicker (but I've said that before). Lofty Skies is a long way in the future, though.
However, the original version of Origins is still available, here. It isn't complete (there's no mention of the Civil War or the Cascade, because I hadn't thought of learnt about them yet) but what it does say is accurate as far as it goes. For Lofty Skies, all there is is the hints in Reorg and Crashing Down.

Which is exactly why I wanted an update for it... Well, I guess I'll just have to wait for everything to be put up.
Well, Ontic got redeemed at last. Can't wait for the next bit, and news on the Mysterious Somebody's fate. Also, I've noticed over half of the official manual is [[Insert Text here]] or [[[Insert Quote here]]. Just pointing it out...
What happened with the Manual is that it ended up being two, maybe three people doing the great majority of the work, so it was going slowly to begin with, and then we got the wiki. Priority shift ensued.

My in-universe excuse is that my agent's copy was abused repeatedly, then had a lightsaber put through it.
