1) Start writing.
2) Keep writing. OFUs tend to be big stories, and it'snever fun to see one get cut off halfway.
I can do 1. I do it all the time.
2 is slightly harder, but I do want to finish stories; I'm just usually very slow about it. >.>

Now's actually a pretty good time; I'm about to go into Christmas break. The potential co-writer has another week, though, I think... well, whatever, it'll work out somehow.

Does that mean no more OFUM 2 and no more mini-Balrog adoptions? No wonder my mini adoption email was never answered. That's not good...
Miss Cam's not doing OFUM or mini-Balrog adoptions any more, no. I asked her about that back in April, actually.
After some enquiries, she let me take over the mini-Balrog adoptions, so I now run the Adoptions Agency. Email me with the mini you'd like to adopt. The list is here:

And ooh, mini-Balrogs. n_n If I ever wind up sporking a LotR fic, I may have to attept to adopt one.

All you really need to do is start it. There used to be a rule where you had to ask Miss Cam for permission, so it's a good idea to send her an email mentioning it, but I think you just have to give her credit. Co-writers make it even more fun for me but that's a personal choice. Other than that, just go ahead and do it!
And sure it's just hypothetical. Sure.
The first step would be to ask permission. I'm not sure if Miss Cam is still the one to go to, but I'm quite sure there's someone who should at least be notified.
Hoop #2 would probably be getting a co-author, but that's not necessary, only really helpful.
Hoop #3 would be telling us what fandom this is for. ;p

Hoop 1 is mostly what I'm concerned with - as far as I can tell, Miss Cam hasn't shown up in... a while. Though, it seems she's been writing...
Hoop 2 is at least partially jumped.
Hoop 3 I've got stuck halfway through, as it's one of the Tales games, and I don't know *anyone* familiar enough with all of them. However, the one that's attracted the most squealing fanbrats is the one I'm most familiar with, and the one for which I can fit through Hoop 2. ^_^
But this is completely and totally hypothetical.
