Hi, I'm back, and a question. by

So, after a month or two of real life semi-hell, getting used to my new school, and another month of NaNoWriMo insanity, I'm back.
So, that leads me to my question; I wasn't incredibly active, but I did hang around here and post for over a month before I disappeared. Can I ask for Permission now, or do you not remember me? -

I do remember seeing you around for quite a while, which means you can't have been gone that long, as I only joined sevenish months ago. (Already? O.o)
Anyways. I'd suggest hanging around for just a little while and letting everyone get used to having you back before you ask. I don't think a whole month should be necessary, though, unless the PGs really insist. (Speaking of which, I wonder when the next elections are. :P)
Sorry, I ramble. Welcome back! -
Elections? by

There are elections? And how does one vote? Do they happen on here?

Well, I was assuming there'd be some, but... by

it seems I got mixed up.
I've only been present for one round of Permission Giver elections, but as far as I know, the procedure is as follows:
-One of the current PGs announces that elections are taking place in a post on the Board.
-People post replies voting for whom they think would make the best PG/PGs.
-When enthusiasm dies down or the thread gets shunted off the Board, the votes are counted and the people with the most votes are then named official PGs.
But like I said, I just assumed. -

Generally we first ask for nominations as to who should be put forward, then hold an actual vote. But we only do this when the number of PGs on-Board gets critically know, which it hasn't yet. There's still three or four of us around, I'm pretty sure.

I was only gone for about three months, but since I had only been around for a month or so before that...

Did some PGs go missing since the last elections?
By the way:
Hi, anity. Can't say I really remember you as I just realized I mixed your name up with someone else's that starts with an. -

I was just going off the fact that I read somewhere that PGs were elected every six months or so. Can't remember where. Perhaps it was just my stupid head getting things wrong as usual. Ignore me.

You'd have to active for at least six months before you can be elected.
If we'd hold elections every six months we might run into the situation that nearly everyone is a permission giver.
Will now ignore you ;-) -
My take on it. by

Some of the oldbies probably remember you, but it might be best to hang around a bit more, so people get to know you again, before you ask. I went through something similar, and that seemed to be how it worked (then again, literally nobody remembered me, and a few seem to remember you :P). Anyway, it's good to have a previous member back, I hope you enjoy it here without all the real life hassle.
