Sounds like a case of the original post being deleted and the other posts being split. It happens sometimes on boards I've been to, but usually Proboards sites where the whole thread isn't deleted, just specific posts.
All the opening posts from our strange 'troll' have vanished, but all the responses remain. I'm assuming it's the work of our lovely admin people but... well, I suppose I'd like to make sure that my computer isn't going loopy again.
