I was just trying to get my quests done, and all of a sudden I've been attacked by the living dead and either killed or converted. You couldn't fight the things (not if you were a level 33 hunter), and getting to the Argent Dawn to be purified in the five minutes available would've been tricky even if the major city you were in WASN'T chock-full of zombies.

Played havoc, but was interesting in an 'aargh I'll run for my life' kind of way.

As of yesterday, a cure has been found for the zombie plague, courtesy of either the Grand Apothecary of the Forsaken, or a human high priestess, depending on your faction. Blizzard has hinted, however, that the invasion is nowhere near over yet.

It is increadably annoying in the Outlands. Shattrath is constantly infected and impossible to move around in. Not including my lag time for my comp (which in really bad in Shatt)

The people at Blizzard must be laughing their collective butts off about the zombie raids. I haven:t been to Booty Bay since I started playing again, but Orgrimmar can be fairly bad.

This is apparently only the beginning-the devs have hinted strongly that the Scourge invasion will continue until WotLK launch, and that the Lich King is not running low on tricks-the zombie plague is being cured, but the next phase of the invasion is nigh.

Zombie event is fun-ish if you like being a zombie, annoying if you're 70 and don't like it, and hell if you're an alt and trying to turn in a quest in an infested town (Booty Bay, I am looking at you).

Invasion, though, is fun and made of win. The gear from turning in necrotic runes (by killing invaders) is pretty good, and you can grab the Argent Dawn tabard again, for a Feat of Strength achievement if nothing else.
