About the Department of Mary Sue Experiments and Research... by

I checked the List of PPC Fiction and there are no fics written for the DMSE&R.
I'm curious about this Department because I'm considering asking for Permission to write in two scientists for that Department, and I want to know what a typical lab journal for the DMSE&R would be like.
So if someone is already slated to write a lab experiment for the scientists, I'd like to see the fic. If not, then I would like to just put this idea out there...

No, there aren't any. by

Like many Infrastructure Departments, the DMSE&R tends to just get mentions in other missions. I believe there's an Agent from them in the Alumia exorcism, for instance, and I recall some from the macrovirus crisis. But there's no actual 'fics involving just them.
As to whether it would work? Well, it could, naturally. There is a tragic lack of actual Infrastructure stories (most are either an Action Agent visiting, an Inf Agent sent on an Action mission, or some sort of crisis -- the Intel reports may count as pure Inf stories, as well as Leto's General Store writings, and maybe the DIA stuff), and I've had various conversations about redressing that. Sadly, though, the life of a Finance Agent is dull and not worth writing about. DMSE&R, however, might be promising.

I'm going to ask for Permission to write seperate "agents" for the DMSE&R. I've already had in mind what the labs are going to look like and how the missions/experiments will play out.
Yeah, Dr. Niamh was in the Alumia exorcism, and that was when I first got interest in this department. -

that you don't take on too many projects - I just have my single pair of agents and it's hard to find time to write them. Having multiple sets, I imagine, would fast become a nightmare.
That said, I really look forward to reading it. WikiM's idea about experimenting with Sue stimuli sounds like a great deal of fun, and do you remember the acid testing incident from a while back? *rummages for link* Ah! Here:

That was fun. -

I was thinking more along the lines of "does the Glitter-to-blood ratio in Sue Blood affect what kind of Sue it will be?"
Speaking of which, I'll need different types of suefics for that one: Bitchy Sue, Goth Sue, Preppy Sue, and so on.
The first specimen will be a Tenth Walker Sue with Canon Character (Galadriel) descent. -
Hey, if you need specimens... by

...all you need to do is ask! I'm sure plenty of Agents- or at least mine- would be willing to donate a sample or two.

Well, I'm all ready to finish up the pilot mission today. by

I've got a few samples already from deleterius, and I'm set for this mission.
But I'd love references to badfics for future missions. Send them in! :) -
I have a specimen for you. by

Well, sort of. It's just something I mentioned giving to the DMSE (or is it DMSR&E now?) at the end of this mission. You can do what you like with it, or not. {= )

Maybe we can test her own made up spell on her...under the investigative question "What are the results of Sue-created spells?"
So far, all I know is that Frogicus Explodicus, mentioned in a HP Mary Sue parody of mine, turns things into cats with queasy stomachs. -

I've got all my samples from hunting around on deleterius. Well...some samples. To get samples from all the types of Mary Sues out there would probably take a lifetime.

I think coming up with the questions might be more informative than the answers - and I look forward to it.

First off, you don't sound stupid. Don't worry about that.
I've looked at the wiki, but it's not too helpful. Stub article and all. I don't think there's much known about it.
Why not throw out a short, rough suggestion of such a lab journal and see what feedback we can give? It should help to balance. -
I'm going to ask my scientist buddies and see... by

They'll probably know and can give me the rough basics behind writing a lab journal.
I'm also considering doing a lab-write up with all the stuff like Question, Procedures, Materials, Hypothesis, Data table...and so on.
Another idea I have is for the scientists trying to gather samples to "tag along" with various members from the Action Departments.
I'll get the first draft of what hopefully will become a DMSE&R mission up soon. ;] -

What about Sue responses to different stimuli?
