Aren't there moments of the day when something happens and you immediately think of the PPC? Like when your best friend gets a pimple behind her ear and says, "Well, at least it's not on my forehead" and you're tempted to mention the Ironic Overpower. Or maybe that time when you got a shiny new cutting board made from acacia wood. Whatever it is, here's a thread to post about the PPC-esque quirks of life.
And I do have an acacia wood cutting board. -

I have to walk past my local primary school (or elementary for those of us in the US) every day on the way to catch the bus to work, and they have a little garden patch out the front... filled with Sunflowers. So I have a little PPC moment almost every morning.

I remember that the word "Assassins" means "user of hashish" in Arabic. Which...is an accurate discription of some of us PPC Agents, but not all.
And Daisy meant..."eye of the day", was it?
Oh and the technichian guy at my school reminds me of Makes-Things. Isn't MT Asian? That guy is Asian and technology-happy, and you don't see him often other than outside the computer lab and even in there it's hard to spot him. -

Well, I was going through some of my older yearbooks and noticed the title of one of the spreads was "HIP Program".
It means: Hearing Impared Program...Program.

I was looking at my schedule and found the initials of my new Maths teacher. On the schedule they don't put full names, just the initials.
My new Maths teacher's initials were MS. Yeah, definently a PPC moment there... -

There's a teacher at one middle school my friend went to who, when using random student names for examples, likes to use the name Mary Sue.
I also spot misspelling of random names everywhere and wonder what the minis would look like. :) -

I keep on thinking (but not actually saying so far) 'stop making Mini-mes' every time someone misspells my name. My surname is pretty rare and even the college library has managed to get it wrong (even though I write it down for them) and my given name has two common spellings and people tend to go for the shorter (by one whole letter) one. It's a good thing that Minis don't exist, or I'd have a whole pack of them.

One kid back in seventh grade couldn't read my handwriting. He was correcting my paper and put "Jennipen" down as my name instead of "Jennifer". I was so mad at him...
I forgive, but I'll never forget.
Some guys on this volleyball team at my school started rejoicing before the game was done, and I tried not to tell them to beware the Ironic Overpower. Instead...I said to not jinx it.
They didn't listen, but the IO did. The team lost. -

Well, my cursive back then was quite loopy...
It still shows a lack of brain cells. Honestly. If I was named "Jennipen" I would probably tell my teachers to call me something else.
And seventh grade is around...11-13 years old. -

"The Curse of Millhaven" - a charming little song I found via TVTropes' "Enfante Terrible" entry when entering her in it. "I got a pretty little mouth underneath all the foamin', lalalala lalalalie ..." Violent children are fun, though my mental jury's still out on whether she's going to grow up into a genuinely nasty vermin or just a Chaotic Neutral. Six-year-olds are chaotic neutral by default.
Also have been reading Simon R Green's Hawk and Fisher novels, and I wondered whether they'd make a good agent pair because they have the l33t weaponry skills and witty banter down pat and they're used to killing weird things. -

I have the sort of singing voice that is mostly suited for singing bloody, bawdy ballads around the campfire- "Fifteen Men", "Boys of Bedlam" (where I found the name Maudlin)... I have to learn all the lyrics to this one!

I keep on having to stop myself from screaming "STU STU STU!!!" whenever I see people reading the Gold Brick at school (or "SUE SUE SUE!!!" at the sight of Twilight). And I jumped a little when I saw the word Manx when I was looking something up on Wikipedia (dunno what it was, though.)
And then there was the time when the New York Times spelled Tolkien "Tolkein." Glods, was I pissed off...
And then lots of occasions when I wish for Bleeprin loudly and ferverently. I get a lot of odd looks for that one. -

I constantly talk about the Ironic Overpower, and there's a house near ours called "Acacia", and a road called "Canons Lane". And whenever I see sunflowers, I laugh my arse off. :P

I once tried my hand at growing sunflowers. It was FUN-NEY.
At the San Diego Wild Animal Park, there's this resturant called "Thorntree Terrace". I laugh my arse off every time I visit. Reminds me of Jay. -

I told my classmates not to tempt the Ironic Overpower on Friday, when one of them said 'at least Chemistry won't have as much maths in it'. It heard her.
Four hours of maths is not funny; two of trigonometry and two of algebra, working out molar weights and concentrations.
If I see a geographical error in something printed, such as a paper, or the TV, I'll invoke DOGA. -

And as a matter of fact, I often do say something - not explicitly mentioning the Ironic Overpower by name, but I've been known to say that the best way to make an elevator come is to get comfortable, to cringe when somebody says "At least ___ hasn't happened," and so on.
I also seem to remember mentally calling out for DOGA recently, but I have no idea what for. (Well, presumably a geographical aberration, but I don't know what kind or where.) -

I remember reading something in a book or a poem...can't remember which...that mentioned acacia trees. Guess what the first thing I thought of was?
Yesterday I forgot a whole bunch of textbooks for a class, and a friend lent me her books saying, "Remember, it could always be worse." I had to resist the urge to bang my head against the nearest wall, and tell her not to tempt the Ironic Overpower. This happens a lot. -

I ran into a particularly... er... choice piece of writing on an RP site I frequent.
It burns.
No, it wasn't one of the RPers' writing (I hope); someone posted it for us to stumble upon and despair.
Funny thing is, my first thought was, "Hmm, I wonder who'd be most traumatized by attempting to fix that?"
(For the masochistic among us: Augh.)
More in an RL vein, someone was mentioning things that cannot be unseen yesterday at anime club, and I nearly blurted out "That's what Bleeprin's for."

If I'd mentioned bleeprin, I could just explain it's a mixture of mental bleach and aspirin and no one would bat an eye. The people around me are like that...and so am I.

I usually just say that Bleeprin is brain bleach and removes bad memories. And everyone is like, "Where'd you get that? I want some!"
Yeah, we're wierd.
But I've heard that people have invented a drug in Real Life that can remove memories.
