It do be Talk Like a Pirate Day, me 'earties! Ha-HARR!
And don't say you're orphans, for we know that game.
I'm so sad I missed talk like a pirate day here (as well as so many other things because I haven't been to the PPC very often recently).
But just to let you fellow pirates know, if anyone uses facebook out there, you can change your language preference to English (Pirate) down at the bottom of the page. It's been making me laugh and smile all day. I thought that just might be the crazy off topic sort of thing some of you out there might enjoy.
*swigs whiskey*
FIFTEEN MEN ON A DEAD MAN'S CHEST
YOHOHO AND A BOTTLE OF RUM
DRINK TO THE DEVIL AND DONE FOR THE REST
YOHOHO AND A BOTTLE OF RUM!!!
Gyar! Now drop her off the portside, first mate!
"The mate was fixed by the bosun's pike,
The bosun brained wid a marlinspike,
An' cooky's throat was marked belike
It 'ad been gripped by fingers ten,
An' there they lay, all good dead men
Like break o' day in a boozin' ken,
Yohoho an' a bottle o' rum!"
(I am such a geek I memorised the whole thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeadMan%27sChest)
It be "Drink an' the devil 'ad done for th' rest".
But ye be a fine shanty singer, aye. *narrows eyes* But 'ow well can ye dance an 'ornpipe? *looks over to the pirate musicians* Play on, lads'n'lasses! *launches into a hornpipe dance*
Yer a fine dancer, lass! Bu' y'can' dance a goo' hornpipe wi' but one dancer, so let's ge' oursel's some oth'r scurvy sons o' seadogs t'join us, aye?
*joins Cassie in the hornpipe*
Sabbat: *rolls his eyes at the 'pirate' talk and grabs himself another tankard of rum*
Pour oh pour the pirate sherry
Fill oh fill the pirate glass...
We're supposed to be singing about...
Piratey things!
I be working on my growl. Unfortunately, it don't sound very human. Arr!
I be rememberin' my first Talk Like a Pirate Day with this 'ere PPC. I were right new I was, an' found myself quite perplexerated by all these strange goings-on. Now, of course, I be one o' the crazies myself!
hS
*coughs* Right. An', jokes I'm not thinkin' anyone'll quite be getting aside ('less of course you've been in those parts), who's got the rum and/or other drinkables? That're unlikely t'kill us, a'course. Me, I've got the oranges.
