I was browsing sites looking for decent Irish dancing solo dresses (I don't have one yet and would like to own one) I came across this needlework site featuring Irish dance dresses based off of The Lord of the Rings. Some of them are absolutely amazing!
Some of my favorites:
The River Silverlode http://www.silverlodeneedlecraft.com/riversilverlode.htm
Far Green Country http://www.silverlodeneedlecraft.com/fargreencountry.htm
Rivendell in Autumn http://www.silverlodeneedlecraft.com/rivenautumn.htm
Shadowfax http://www.silverlodeneedlecraft.com/shadowfax.htm
The White Tree

The Silmarillion
http://www.silverlodeneedlecraft.com/Silmarillion.htm
I suddenly find myself wanting to post all of them. Check out www.silverlodeneedlecraft.com for the rest of them.
AREN'T THEY PRETTY? :-O
And much, much nicer than the dresses that I saw at the festival in Schoten last week! Less neon pink and orange for one thing!
Not sure why people like the bright, eye-killing colors...I know they help you get seen on stage and make you stand out from everyone else, but seriously...they HURT.
Because they did, the troupe costumes were lovely, black with a pink, green, blue and yellow celtic knot design on the skirt.
This might be jelousy talking mind you, our costumes were the plainest at the festival!
...but solo dresses like this (http://www.irishdancingdirectory.com/images/dress.jpg) and this (http://www.gardenofdaisies.com/images/brooke_7ji2.jpg) make my eyes bleed.
Those are absolutely gorgeous!

Love the The River Silverlode and the White Tree. ^^
Those were quite amazing to see.
SO YES, THEY ARE PRETTY. *drool*
But they're pretty awesome. Love Shadowfax and Silverlode. ^_^
My favourite is The Silmarillion.
I especially like Celebrant, Silmarillion and The White Tree. Now I'm rather desperately envious of people who can actually sew.
Waaaaaant.
Maybe, if I'm really lucky, after I spent the next ten years embroidering silver and gold trees on my clothes, the stuff I do will a fraction as beautiful as that embroidery. That's gorgeous.
(Too bad I wouldn't fit into any of them. Dresses like that are made for dancers and supermodels. But I definitely like them!)
