After all, this is supposed to be stress relief.
Would it help If I scanned the uberpit for some easy targets in fandoms that we rarely see PPC'd? Like Halo for instance and is Serra still working on that Valter sue?
LOTR is my main fandom, but I have several Les Miserables Sues in my queue (and one already slain), I've done a Sandman mission, a Pride and Prejudice mission, and I have some other random things awaiting sporkage.
If you find an atrocity, and you yourself are passionate about the fandom, then go for it. Badfic is universal, and all of it deserves to be slain.
...if we were to focus on well-known fandoms, an awful lot of truly awful fic would be allowed to live, and that would be a Bad Thing. I think the trick's finding a balance that still satisfies your need to kill the fic while making the mission accessible to people who don't know the fandom. Which is, obviously, easier said than done, but certainly worth a try.
After all, this is supposed to be stress relief.
When writing a PPC mission for a little-known fandom, there aren't necessarily going to be many people around who can read it. I'm rather saddened that I have to skip over a number of available missions just because I don't understand the original canon well enough to understand what's going on - anime is a good example. LotR, Harry Potter and so on are great because almost everyone knows them.
But certainly, it's worth a try. Don't let me discourage you.
