I'm Le Jai, and am also a newb. :3 JulyFlame recruited me.

The towel's convenient and... well... I think it came out a bit different than most. So I can't predict what it'll do, but what it does shall be convenient.
For whom, I can't for the life of me predict.
So... welcome here, and it should be 'who is standing behind me' or 'who's standing behind me' not 'whose standing behind me', FYI, and sorry for nitpicking so early on.
May your edged weapons stay sharp! And if you don't have any, have a titanium spork called Resplendently, and may that stay sharp! And if you do have edged weapons, have the spork anyway ^^

I'm sure you'll fit right in with all the other insane people here...(including myself, of course)
I gift you with psychic paper. Very useful for getting into parties uninvited. Just don't let your mind wander when you're using it...

Hail and well met, and other such phrases. Welcome.
*hands over bag of pebbles and a Random Shiny Object*
These are my gifts for you as a newbie. Throw the pebbles at Sues and marvel at the shininess of the Shiny Object.
Always nice to have new faces around. Silmarillion-fandom! AWESOME!
Now...I'm guessing you'll want to write for the PPC at some point?
Here's the info you'll need.
First of all, you should spend about a month hanging around on the Board. Let everyone get to know you. Join in with discussions. During that time, check out some of the PPC stuff that's been written. A good place to look for stuff is the PPC Wiki, found here:
http://ppcwiki.wikilot.com/wiki/Main_Page
Make sure to read the Original Series, and have a look at Huinesoron's work- the Reorganisation/ Crashing Down and the DOGA website, mainly. (He's the main chronicler of PPC history, as well as doing about a million and one other projects. Strange person he is, but we all love him to bits for it. Links on the wiki.)
Also during that time, think yourself up an Agent or two. If you're working with someone, then one Agent each might be a good idea. Think about what Department you might like to go into- is it just Mary Sues, or are there other things that bother you, like Bad Slash or Technical Errors?
Then, once your month or so is up, post on the Board asking for Permission. Include brief descriptions of your Agents and a sample of your writing so the Permission Givers can get a feel for your style. Then wait a bit. Within the next few days, you should get a reply from a Permission Giver. Once Permission is granted, write away!
Note: if anyone gives you links to something called C*l*br**n, That Series, Littlefoot x Cera or anything called Legendary Badfic, for the love of everything sacred, DO NOT CLICK THAT LINK. They are called Legendary Badfic for a reason. You can find summaries of them on the Wiki, but even those could melt your brain.
Lovely to have you. Welcome to the insanity.

Do you know anyone who is really named Ariel? Because I do, and it was quite odd to see the unusual name of my very close friend ... here.
So, ah, anyway...I give you cherries and punch. They're from Xanth, which means they're fun, because they explode and, well, punch.
And is "Ariel" really a Quenya construction? Are you sure you're not naming yourself after one of Uranus's moons?

Sweet, Silm fan! The Fëanorians are beyond awesome.
I gift you with a harpsichord. Because harpsichords make everything better.

And a plover is a bird. This will make sense later.
Welcome, Ariel! Is that after the mermaid, the Shakespeare character, or something else? I give you some cake that was once timeline-defying and is now just a bit stale. But it's chocolate, and everyone knows chocolate never really gets stale.

(I'd present you with a complementary silmaril replica, but I understand that the Fëanorians have those under copyright too, the sneaky bastards. So you get an iguana instead.)
Huzzah for a fellow Silmarillion fan! Our section is for the most part blessedly free of Sues, but I've seen a couple crop up lately. Who's your favourite character, then?
