Well, after a lovely day hosted at the British Museum, I figured I ought to wander back by the Board and re-introduce myself properly.
Hallo, all, I'm Fractal Dawn, or Lee if you like. I first hung out here and got Permission... gosh, six years ago or so by now. My chief fandom is Codex Alera (as those who met me today can attest to); I have many others which rank high as well (corners of DC canon, Tolkien, Tales of Symphonia, and many others).
And... I don't really know what else to say, I guess, other than hello! I've never been a loud voice, but hello nonetheless.
I remember you! You helped me when I was making my first agents and was thinking one of them might be an ex-Cursor. Here, have a Canim bloodstone made of Sue blood!
Yeah, I remember, I was so excited to find someone else who'd actually read the books!
Oh my. Shiiiiiny. *turns bloodstone over in fascination* I'm a little terrified to know what eldritch powers one of these made of Sue blood might have beyond or instead of the norm.
I have no idea who exactly you are, I'm kinda new-ish (if you can call being here for a few weeks, then leaving for a year, then returning a few weeks ago "new-ish"). But hello anyways!
Here's a rocket launcher, because everyone needs a rocket launcher. Yours has a Sierpinski Triangle engraved on the side because fractals.
As someone who's drifted in and out repeatedly over the years, yes, that may have to count as new-ish. ...Dear Eru, I'm getting old. *gets out cane and dentures*
Awesome! I don't know which is more awesome, the rocket launcher or the engraving. I love Sierpinski Triangles.
Man, I love having old familiar faces around. Feels more home-like. ^_^
Does this mean we may finally learn the fate of Agent Lucien?
~Neshomeh
And I'm glad I'm not the old face still around, too! :)
Ahah. Well, I suppose that depends on just what actually happened to some of those old RC archives, and whether there was some odd wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey regarding their timestreams... *quiet cackle of not at all evil why do you ask*
I think I read about you on the wiki in a few places. Are you a Permission Giver? Cause I get the feeling you are. Anyway, whether you are or not, have some movie theater popcorn! It's extra-buttery.
Oh, bless, no! I've always been kind of quiet, I never joined the ranks of PG.
Oooh, extra-buttery, my favorite! Thanks!
And you... yep, come across as just as, uh, 'energetic' in writing. Funny how that works.
Welcome back a'Board. I hope you have a great time and don't engage in too much nefariousnessfulness. This may be a forlorn hope...
hS
Yeah, energetic does seem to be the impression people get... Oops.
Well, so long as no one works out a way to actually do the Willy Wonka thing and send chocolate via video and screen, so I can't just send the entire PPC chocolate via the Board, there shouldn't be too many nefarious plots I could accidentally engage in...
(Hey, DoSAT's working on that, right?)
Hey, I've read Codex Alera, too! (Tavi. Just... Tavi. It is practically impossible to be more awesome than Tavi.)
Anyways... *showers Fractal with packing peanuts and see-though streamers*
Also, everyone, how was the Gathering?
-Aila
Hurrah, more Alera fans! *happily hands a cookie, decorated with furycrafting emblem of your choice!* (And yeah, Tavi is... yeah. Gaius Sextus may be More Badass Than You, Yes You, And We Do Mean You, but Tavi's still very young. He'll get there. And is already way too awesome.)
Oooh. *reacts like a kitty to peanuts and streamers*
Well, in the humble opinion of the unexpected-American-crashing-the-party, the Gathering was tons of fun. It's always nice getting to hang out with a fandom group spontaneously in real life.
Do I apologize for pun! NEVAAAAHHHH!!!!
You'll have to work harder if you're looking to do SAN damage with puns, just so you know. I've got a pretty high save versus them after over-exposure. :)
I am Groot?
-I am Groot
Welcome back! I hope that the PPC stands up to how you remember it.
I actually rather doubt it will--but it's been a couple years at least since I really was here last, in-depth, and life goes on. Groups and people grow.
So I rather doubt it will be the PPC I remember--but then, I've changed too, so it doesn't mean I don't hope it will be a place I can enjoy in new ways. :)
So I'll give you what's becoming my iconic gift:
-Sets up a table-
-Offers tea, scones and jam-
Don't let the leaves eat you.
(PS: The British Museum is awesome. If/when my planned trip to Britain will happen, I'll probably visit again.)
Oooh, tea and scones! *attacks eagerly*
(It is, in fact, awesome--but I forgot my camera today! Alas, I may be forced to return to it before I leave London. How tragic.)
I think you gave me one of my Newbie Gifts, but since the page is gone now, I don't know.
Also, I won't make that mistake and make sure I'll take my sketchbook to the British Museum. I'm not much of a camera guy anyway.
Possibly. I don't remember. But I do remember your handle. :)
And if you're a sketchbook type, then I envy you the hand-eye coordination that takes. Me, my camera and fiddling with exposures when I'm not feeling lazy has to suffice.
Have a pair of Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses. Designed to help the wearer develop a relaxed attitude to danger, the lenses turn completely black at the first hint of trouble, thus preventing the wearer from seeing anything that might alarm him/her.
Seeing as you joined well after my last sojourn here. I appreciate the welcome present, though!
Those always seemed dangerous to me, actually. Fear responses exist for a reason. Also, I don't mind being hyper-paranoid. That's what the batarangs are for.
Mine.
Sending your villainous cohorts across t'Pond to villainously attack me when I was villainously not expecting it... wait, I think I had a couple of extra villains in there somewhere (a tragic fate shared by so many movies)...
hS
I knew it was the best time to strike and if anything else, Lee tends to succeed marvelously at nefarious plots.
Besides, I knew you'd never expect it!
*is a very squishy pile now*
Truly a squished.
'Cause I got the eye of the tiger!
The fire!
Dancin' through the fire!
'cause I am a champion!
An' you're gonna hear me roar!
Anyway, hi, Fractal! I've heard about you! Welcome back! *throws cakefetti*
