May I ask where you are going?
Is there a thread for this already? If not, I think this should suffice ^_^
I'm pretty sure everyone in the Pokemon fandom and their Pikachu knows about ORAS nowadays. I want to play it as soon as I get a 3DS! So here's my general question: What do you Poke-fans like the most about what we know so far? Gym Leaders? Mega Evolutions? Other plot details?
Looking forward to the new Mega's, should be interesting to see what effect they have on the metagame and what tier they'll be in.
When I get the game (and a 3DS, I still lack one of those) I'll probably go for either Mudkip or Treecko, if Mega-Swampert has more bulk than normal Swampert then it'll be amazing, and if Mega-Sceptile has more power and speed, that'll be good too.
The thing I'm most looking forward to though is moves no longer being physical/special based on type, I now it's been around since Gen 4, but to finally get it in Hoenn (my most played region) will be brilliant.
Storme Hawk
That's probably what drove me the most nuts about generation three.
I used to only like the Treecko line, but I got stuck with Mudkip on my Sapphire run and it kind of grew on me... Still not too much of a fan of Torchic, though. Sorry.
I've always loved the Torchic line, but the Treeko line looks very interesting. Still You
Must have heard how much I like Mudkips. Also this is my last post before I go away for a week.
May I ask where you are going?
I'm not going to give my location over the Internet. I don't trust it that much. I'm going to a camp for writers out in the wilderness. I'm also hoping to get an advice on a series I'm working on.
is it Order of Order, by any chance?
Besides the fact that they exist at all, definitely Super Secret Bases. They look so cool and the dolls are huge now and the music's the same and I'll actually get to do the multiplayer with those and aasdfkjlsalkdjlk *deep breath*
Sorry about that, got a little carried away. By the way, are you new? I don't think we've met.
I've never used a Secret Base (never played any of the games at all, though I do plan to tackle X once I get a 3DS), but I'll take your word for it that the Super Secret Bases are pretty cool.
And yeah, I'm new. Only started gaining interest in PPC a few days ago but I'm glad I did :)
I had a used GBA and a Gameboy Color cartridge for Pokemon, I think it was Red. I didn't get much into it and I think I told my mom she could trade it and its set of rechargeable AA's for my cousin to do yardwork.
I tried a pokemon clone for either winphone or android but didn't get into that either.
Are there any recommended roms, or maybe a Gamecube disc that's not expensive?
Normally I'd say play from the beginning, however another 'good' starting point seems to be Black/White, one of my favorite things about Black was that it was in some way a re-invention of Pokemon yet it still contained enough of the old stuff for gamers from the previous Gens to enjoy. So grab a DS (the originals should be fairly cheap by now and they're very durable. Mine's lasted me since they came out, and despite a shorter battery life it's still got a few more years in it yet) and get Black or White. That's my advice if you want to get into Pokemon anyway.
Call me cheap, but I can feed myself for a week on that, and there are other things I'd rather buy.
Good luck with the pokemons.
(Don't worry, the ones were intentional :P )
I've never made it very far in the original Ruby an Sapphire games, but maybe I'll get through the remakes. And then go back and play the originals? I don't know, I just kind of lose interest after Brawley, even though I started playing in third gen. :/
I'm hoping they bring back character customization and nerf Fairy types a little, because there wasn't much you could do to hurt a lot of them. And of course the plot! I was more than a little disappointed at the sudden end of X and Y (though I DID finally complete the Kalos Pokédex).
You know what? I'll wait to play the originals. I'll do a blind Nuzlocke run of AS and then finish my Sapphire run.
Nobember 21st, bay-bee! :D (-o-)

Think you'll be able to finish the National Dex in time as well? Remember, you get a cake from me if you do!
And since I never got to see the third gen games at all, this is going to be totally AWESOME!
Well, I didn't know about it, so thanks for informing me!
Having looked it up, I've got mixed feelings on the plot. The more recent games have had very complex and intriguing villains, whereas I think Ruby and Sapphire were about the weakest, plot-wise. I'd like it if they gave them a little more depth, but I'm not sure how far you can go with their motivation.
I will confess to also having very mixed feelings about the use of Mega Evolution. Torchic is just so adorable, and its evolved forms are kind of weird-looking. Originally, I never let mine evolve, but with Mega Evolution, there'll be even more pressure to let it evolve.
Also, Sableye is broken enough already without a Mega Evolution.
Happy to help :)
Design-wise, I'm personally spazzing out over Mega Sceptile, because FINALLY WE GET A GRASS/DRAGON TYPE AND IT BREAKS OFF ITS TAIL IN BATTLE LIKE REAL GECKOS DO WITH THEIR TAILS ASDFDSAFDSAFDSAF *The bird continues his bout of excited screeching for another full minute.*
Anyway, not too keen on the rest of the ORAS Megas, though Mega Metagross looks pretty badass. I'm holding out on Mega Swellow myself, though...
The rest gets a "meh" response from me so far. I'm all for Primal Groudon/Kyogre, though, it would be interesting to see the history of Hoenn fleshed out.
