Ah, my poor ears. I don't know what to focus on, and it is driving me bonkers. Is that part of the joke?

Observe - the Madoka Live Action Movie Trailer!

Ok, it's an April Fools joke, but it's also a bit more than that. It's a cross-promotional video between Madoka Rebellion Story and the Japanese idol group Nogizaka46, to promote the movie and the group's latest single. More information over here:

As far as I can tell, the order of characters in the picture at the bottom of the article is Madoka - Mami - Homura - Kyouko - Sayaka.

That's all I can say. Despite the fact that it's an April Fools prank, it's just… what.

The Celestia is the flagship of the entire Equestrian space fleet. Despite being the biggest and most complicated ship in the entire fleet, the love and care of hundreds of engineers have kept the ship-- and the sentient AI named after it-- in tip-top shape over the years. The AI is without a doubt one of the biggest assets of the migrant fleet: its wisdom has guided the Equestrians along every step of their interstellar journey ever since they fled their doomed homeworld. The other main feature of the supercarrier is its Harmonic Ion Cannon-- a devastating anti-electronics weapon capable of taking out a target's subsystems without directly harming a living creature. When the ship is directly threatened, it can count on its wing of Dragonfire space fighters to deal with the situation.
Only two Alicorn-class starships were completed before the Great Evacuation: the Celestia and the Luna. Shortly after departure, the Luna's AI started behaving erratically, shutting down its communication channels, forcing her crew to board the escape pods and jettisoning them into space, and randomly arming and locking its weapons at the other warships in the fleet. A skirmish between the Luna and her sister ship ensued but before the Celestia could bring her Harmonic Ion Cannon to bear on the rogue ship, the Luna fled to warp. When the crew of the Luna was rescued, they reported that someone had sabotaged the AI by introducing a virus into the system. The culprit was never found.
If recent reports by the Celestia's elite Wonderbolt scouting squadron can be trusted, the Luna has been spotted several times within several light-years of the fleet. All attempts at hailing the ship have gone unanswered.
Crew
Celestia: the ship's sentient AI.
Spike: a rookie Dragonfire pilot.
Twilight Sparkle: Captain of the Celestia.
Applejack: The Celestia's Chief Engineer.
Rainbow Dash: A Dragonfire pilot and aspiring Wonderbolts member.
Pinkie Pie: The ship's Chief Steward.
Fluttershy: Chief Medical Officer on board the Celestia.
Rarity: The ship's Navigator.
Dr. Whooves: One of Equestria's greatest polymaths, maintains Celestia's mainframe.
Spitfire: Leader of the Wonderbolts squadron.
But wouldn't Applejack be in charge of the Celestia's agriculture plants? I feel that the pony's positions on the ship should still reflect their original Cutie Marks.
And, a word for the bad guys:
Nightmare Moon could either be the virus that corrupted the Luna, or the entity that introduced the virus to the system.
The Changelings… EVIL ALIEN PLAGUE MONSTERS. For some reason, there has to be at least one of these things for every sci-fi series ever.
Aaand Discord could be whatever caused the Great Evacuation in the first place. Some sort of evil entity? Not necessarily a drakonequus with chaos powers and a quirky sense of humor, but a full on malignant entity that is trying to destroy the Equestrians for some reason.
There you have it.
I feel like this is a fake shout-out to something, but I can't decide whether the something is Kirby or Star Trek or something else I don't know right now. There was too much echo for a thirty-second "trailer", and why'd they make the tail/tale pun if Not!Spike's human?
It does sound like a pretty kickass alternate universe fanfic, though :)
The premise seems to be similar. People floating around in a spaceship, looking for a new home? I don't know much about Galactica, but it seems similar from what I can see.
The music sounds like something from that show, the main character of Cowboy Bebop was named Spike, and the general style of the video's narration was similar to that of the anime, so I think it's the best fit.
