Because due to the nature of the Slenderblogs, no one is entirely sure which ones are in-canon and why. Still, though, they normally have a set of rules that they follow to keep the story going and working properly, and the Slenderblog known as H(a)unting breaks more or less all of them. The Sue had an Operator symbol carved onto her eye in a car crash and somehow does not feel horrible constant pain from a damaged cornea, the Slender Man is her housemate/bodyguard who talks to her by writing on a chalkboard he wears around his neck, and they team up to fight an "even worse" member of Slender Man's species known as ///It///. She names the Slender Man's species, by the way, and the Rake is basically her adorable little pet doggy. I wish I was making this up.
That is simply a sin to anyone who enjoys slender stories.
Anyway, i don't think that slenderman would count entirely as a badfic, some slenderpastas (I don't think thats how it's called) are acceptable.
It started out similar, but sort of grew into its own thing, with a full fictional universe and more-or-less stable rules and such. The problem arose in the fact that the canon is incredibly loose, and there's not really any central deciding force behind it, so it's possible that anyone might consider any random connection of Slenderblogs to be canon and for the rest to be wrong, and come up with a rationale for how their picks are all connected. It's basically a mess.
The authors of Quotev seem to think eldritch abominations and serial killers make good *shudder* boyfriends.
