Heather Dale is, in my opinion (and as I've often said on the Board) one of the best singer-songwriters around. According to her own description:

"Heather finds new insight within old material, and cheerfully fuses the Celtic folk tradition with a healthy mix of world music and rock influences."

Her lyrics have been a particular inspiration for me - Crashing Down (and all its chapter titles) is named for one of her songs, and the PPC AU Pistons of the Plot Continuum is explicitly inspired by one of her albums (and features clips of the songs as soundtrack).

Heather writes-and-sings on a range of topics - from Greek mythology to Robin Hood - but a lot of her songs come back to the legends of King Arthur. She's now looking to take those songs and turn them into a stage musical: Celtic Avalon.

I think it looks good - but then, I've met the woman, and have every one of her albums. Fortunately (or sneakily, if you prefer), she's released a free album for download: Perpetual Gift. Go on, give it a listen - no catches, no hidden strings.

And if you like it - or if you just think what she wants to do with Celtic Avalon sounds as cool as I think it does - then why not consider donating through Indiegogo? She's halfway there in about half the time, so it looks like Celtic Avalon is on track - but only if people keep donating.

I have - but like I said, I own all her albums (and you can certainly buy those if you like - or, if you donate $75 to Celtic Avalon, you get two of those $10 albums to download as a reward; in other words, if you were inclined to donate $45 for the DVD, and were planning on buying some albums, the $75 donation only costs you an extra $10).

I realise that was a bit wordy, so here's the summary:

Singer-songwriter with Celtic influences wants to make a King Arthur musical. Check out her music for free and/or donate to Celtic Avalon now.
