Either you attach a normal doc (.doc, .docx, .rtf) to your e-mail, and we communicate by e-mail.
Or you include only a link to a gdoc into your e-mail. Obviously this gdoc cannot be private, because I wouldn’t see it, but it may be hidden by the fact that only you and I know where it is. Apparently it is possible to enable commenting for everybody who has the link to the gdoc (but I don’t know exactly how the gdoc’s owner does this). In this case, I wouldn’t need to quote parts of the document to point you to where my comment belongs; I could highlight a word in the gdoc and attach a comment to it. That’s what I did when I beta read for the first time.
There may also be options to limit access to a gdoc to specific persons who need to login, but this wouldn’t work for me, because I don’t intend to create an account. So, if you want to share your gdoc with me, you may want to copy it to get a new, secret link, and avoid getting comments from all over the board. (Or, since nobody ever looks at the second page of the board, the link published in the original thread may not be a big issue anymore.)
