A draft of chapter 1 of The Literal Underground, the Myst fic I've been working on, is ready for beta. A working knowledge of Myst, especially Uru, is a must. Knowledge of Book of D'ni is also important because of who I will reveal the Old Man to be in a later chapter; I want be sure I can get/keep his dialogue into/in character.
...I've been trying to verify some information on the wiki, and I think you might be able to help. Would it be okay to fire a question or two at you via e-mail?

...my knolage of Myst is rather restricted. I get the premice, and I have played through a good chunk of the first game, but I have no workable knowlage of the canon. Sorry.
what's the fate of that mission that Herr Wozzeck and I betaed for you?

I finished it last night, I just have not had the chance to send it over yet. I want to give it a quick look-over before I send it though, so it may be a while, but it will be in your inbox tonight. Let's just say, I changed quite a bit. This may well be the first instance of a canon character... Well, you'll see.
Yeah, I know. I am bad at english, but when I have spell-check, I'm pretty good! I actually knew they were misspelled, but for the life of me, I could not think of the proper spelling, so I just went with it. Such is the life of posting on a device with no spell check.
Don't forget to send a copy to Herr Wozzeck!
BTW, where are you from? What language do you normally speak?

I'm from Alaska. I only speak English. I just say I'm bad at English because I am a naturally bad speller. I have tried to get better, and in many ways I am, but I'm still pretty bad. That and simple grammar escapes me at times. Strangely enough, this only applies to my own writing; if I read other people's work, all of the errors jump out at me. It's strange...
You're just a bad speller and have lots of rrom to grow in regards to your writing. "Bad at English" implies that you're a foreigner who can barely get a coherent sentence together--which is obviously not the case.
One day, when I turned in a paper to my fourth grade teacher, she looked over it and said, "This is really good, but your spelling is atrocious. Why are you struggling so much with spelling?"
To this, I replied, "I'm sorry. I'm just bad at English, I guess." Since then, my bad spelling has been referred to as me being bad at English. Sorry for any confusion.
