I was trawling around the LexicanUm inbetween exams today, and found something that actually made me speechless for a second.

During an Ork attack on an Imperial Guard command post, the only people to stand against the Orks were a Sub-Overlord and his Ogryn bodyguard, Nork Deddog. The Orks leading the attack were a squad of Meganobz (really big, really mean Orks in Orky power armor with huge-ass guns and Power Klaws) led by Warboss Uglurk Gitsmasha (Warbosses are UNGODLY. They're routinely about 10-12 feet tall and can punt Space Marines around like soccer balls. The Warboss of the WAAAGH! is the Warboss because he is THE biggest, meanest, 'ardest Orkin the entire sector. These guys do NOT mess around).

So what do two squishy lil' 'umies do against a Warboss and his retinue? Usually, not much. Since Nork doesn't know what 'usually' means (being an Ogryn, he's not exactly a rocket scientist), he figured he'd have a go anyway.

So he headbutted the Warboss to death.

Yes, you read that right. He freaking headbutted a Warboss. to death.

the rest of the Orks were so awestruck they actually retreated rather than face Nork.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Imperial Guard: bringing the Emperor's Light to the darkest corners of the galaxy with nothing but glorified flashlights, paper-mache armor, and enough balls to make the Grey Knights lie down and cry like pansies.

(Because this is as good an opportunity as ever to do the tiny bit of research I need...)

Under optimal (ie, non-combat, clear skies) conditions, what is the largest class of Eldar warship which could easily land on a planet, or at least perform a very-close-range pickup (climbing ladders, not drop pods at 40,000 feet) from ground?

Additionally, if the answer is different, what is the largest Eldar warship which fits the above description and could make such a landing in a large real-world sports stadium?

Eldar ships jump from large bombers to Destroyers, without much in between. Warp-capable Eldarcraft aren't meant dor atmospheric flight. Realistically, the largest craft that could actually land is the 26-meter Vampire Raider assault shuttle.

... how would one get into a Vampire Raider?

Are we looking at a ramp from the undercarriage, a ladder up the side, Something Scientimagical (TM), what? Or has no-one ever bothered to decide?

Unfortunately I was faced with two contradictory impulses: I needed to ask someone, since I couldn't find the answer myself, and I needed to not reveal a crucial plot twist in an upcoming story. The result is the question as you see it.

It's not a 40k story, though. It may lead to something with more 40k questions, but I'm not sure about that yet...

Apparently they were going for over-the-top there, as the bad guys this time were chasing poor Conan with a freaking attack helicopter

Conan's answer? To use his super-elastic suspenders to bunjee-jump down the skyscraper he was pinned on, and then use them to launch a broken lamp towards the helicopter, crippling its controls.

Yes, a seventeen-years-old high school student in the body of a seven-years-old kid shot down an attack helicopter with what is basically a glorified slingshot.

We have another guy who never is to meet Nanoha or Homura here. Mainly because Conan's actually the smart and knowledgeable one (he's called the "Sherlock Holmes of the 21st century")... so he's basically going to suggest them tactics to better use their already impressive arsenal.

It seems that letting Conan meet Game Theory!Nanoha is a bad idea. In fact, letting Game Theory!Nanoha meet Homuhomu is a bad idea.
