You would think that anyone whose religion held a tiger as a sacred or symbolic animal would also celebrate the tiger's fierceness, strength, hunting ability, etc. Which, in fact, Hinduism does (as far as I know, from my legendary knowledge gained via Wikipedia). There's nothing about revering a tiger that should make you so stupid as to climb into the enclosure of a tiger which doesn't know you and could very well mistake you for an antelope. If you wanted to leave flowers for a tiger, you could hang them near the tiger's enclosure, or give them to the keepers. At the very worst you might toss them into the tiger's enclosure, though that would be rude and let's hope the flowers aren't poisonous.
No... religion's not to blame here. As a Christian, I may marvel at the stupidity of people who get drunk and play with rattlesnakes; as a Hindu I would think it just as stupid to get drunk and climb into a tiger cage.
