Guys, guys, guys! Who listened to these songs when you were little? I did! I still sometimes hum "Who's Afraid of Thunder?", "What Makes the Lightning?", "How Does a Cow Make Milk?", and "How Many Colors Are in the Rainbow?" to this day. ^_^ They're not all as great as those, but hey, share the ones you like with your kids and/or young friends and relatives and leave the rest. Yay science!

I was too busy watching James Morris strut his stuff in the title role of Boris Godunov, among the other operatic adventures of my youth.

But I listened to "What Are the Parts of a Tree", and they do seem like a great way to get kids talking about science. The tunes are a bit catchy. So yeah, fun times are had for all with that.

Also... Is it me, or does the lady singer in that one sound a lot like the love child of Marni Nixon and Whitney Houston?

I'm not a fan. >.
The other singers are pretty good, though. I really like Tom Glazer, and I'm pretty sure I do remember his voice.

I am totally filking "How Many Colors Are in the Rainbow?" thanks to the RP:

Obviously, everyone should do this now. Take a kids' song, make it into a song that teaches canon for kids who are too young to read the books yet. *g*

It is so much easier to teach the Nursery children the facts of canon through the medium of music than through other more standard methods. I have no idea why, but it's always best to adapt to this manner of thing rather than oppose it, provided that said manner is a relatively harmless one.
