If so, I have a question that's been bothering me for some time concerning the Scratch.

Needless to say, spoilers ahoy.

Right. So, our story follows John, Rose, Dave, and Jade as they play Sburb and eventually find out that their session has/is/will be caught in an extremely convoluted web of stable time loops with Fun things like Jack Noir, Lord English, and the Condesce lurking in the shadows. They Scratch their session in hopes of getting a more favourable set of starting conditions and end up with Crockercorp taking over the B2 Earth.

My question is: what happened to the other Sburb sessions that launched around the same time as John's session after the Scratch? We know that Sburb went into open beta three days before John's birthday and it's been mentioned that houses all over the world have been struck be meteors during that time. Rose discovered in the Skaianet lab near her house a map that displayed a tonne of meteor impact zones, ostensibly centred on players' houses.

Supposing that some groups managed to prototype their Kernelsprites before impact and bring their coplayers into the Medium, there should be several other human Sburb sessions in parallel with John's, each trying to create a new universe. Sure, they're fighting an uphill battle with things like the Jack-Noir-Cancer running loose in their session, but they're in the Medium, they've got their session up and running, and they're safe from other sessions' Scratches, right? After all, having a "pan-session suicide button" is just plain counterintuitive.

But that's what seemed to happen in the post-Scratch universe: given the fact that the B2 Earth kept the Sburb Alpha under wraps and only allowed a single session to launch, the other sessions never happened in B2.

Did the B1 human sessions just poof out of existence or is this like the trolls' session and the players are betting everything on the outcome of a single session?

...I think I've used the word "session" too much in this quesion.
