I second this motion!
Alternate title: "Unless It Already Exists, That Is."
Heyo, teh PPC! 'Tis I, the- oh, why am I even doing this, I've been here for like two years now...
So, I was reading on Library of the Damned the riffing of a DA badfic, "Kawaii Desu Vampire Sexy" (I know, I know) which is TOTALLY NOT A TWILIGHT FIC SHUT UP ALL OF YOU!
Outside of it reading near-exactly like My Immortal, but with faux-Christian fundamentalist overtones and sexual tomfoolery of the same-sex variety, one of the comments discovered a line that franky, I missed entirely, and it introduced me to this color:
Maglimeta!
Good luck ever seeing straight or ever looking at the Hulk the same way when your eyes take in the monstrosity that is magenta and lime infused!
And I'm sorry in advance.
Limes are yellow, so I assume lime-yellow (or, yime-lellow as my sleep-ridden brain just pronounced it).
It's magetna and green. I imagine it would look sort of like the iridescence on the wings of certain insects, but with more vomitous overtones and a hint offffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
>>
Well that'll teach me to put anything in brackets....
(For those of you curious, the eaten text was supposed to say ADMIRALSAKAI HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE. PRESS ANY KEY TO RESET.)
Somehow, that makes it worse.
led to this new Suvian color?
In other words, I would like to know the context, provided that it is not NSFW/NSFB.
I second this motion!
Apparently it's the eye color of a "bampire" in the story. His eyes turn "magenta lime like a lime thta was magenta colored" after he drinks "hyoomun bluds".
Full chapter here. Beware, as it contains multiple NSFW similes.
I am at least 98% sure that this is a troll fic. The other 2% comes from my foreknowledge that yes, there are in fact people who write this poorly, but considering the type and method of the errors, it becomes immensely unlikely that this is a non-troll.
In most of the full-blooded badfic writers, the spelling and structure is a mess, but constructs like the aforementioned NSFW similes used tend not to happen by accident.
I meant "is not a non-troll". That's what I get for planning an intentional double negative.
I had rephrased my double negative so that it was double-negative in a way I had forgotten about, so my alleged typo was in fact not a typo at all. Sorry, everybody.
This got embarrassing and convoluted very quickly. I'm going to go lie down.
OH DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN SOME ONE HELP US!!! ANOTHER SUE COLOR!!!
*ring all the alarm bells and angers the flowers*
AHHHH! IT BURNS us...
Can I use it in the OFWho?
It burns...
Every OFU needs its own school color! The Baker Street Academy has crimsun, the Pokémon OFU had "blood shot red", HFA has blello, IAHF had bled, and the WhOFU can have maglimeta. An OFU that doesn't make its students cringe when they look at the school seal would be missing a little something, IMO.
I already had a colour in mind...Plue(Pink and Blue's unholy offspring), but I was going to call it Blink. (Heheheheheh)
Since we have a new colour, would it be alright to have two? I don't want to be greedy, but the two colours would be a terrifying combination.
It isn't as though you using the magenta/lime color is going to prevent anyone else from using it, so it's not greedy. Enthusiastic, yes, but that's not a bad thing.
Huh. I've actually seen "plue" as a misspelling-induced color in some places on the Pit, during the same off-topic Google search that led to my discovery of "otange". Good call there.
But calling it "blink"? In a Doctor Who OFU? With that name, combined with Doctor Who's propensity for throwing aside logic in order to up the stakes, that name will almost certainly lead to someone painting a wall "blink", allowing a Weeping Angel free access to that hall and only that hall, indefinitely, because everything in that hall is "blinking" in the same way painting something red is "reddening" it.
Or was that the plan? Did I end up explaining the joke on accident?
Haha! I get it. Although the joke would be more along the lines of:
"AH! Blink!"
"But we aren't supposed to blink!"
"No, Blink!"
"Are you trying to get us killed?!"
"Argh! Blink!"
"What part of getting killed do you not understand?"
"Blink! Blink!"
"Forget it I'm not going to-AH! Blink!"
"Now you see it..."
I see it as a nightmare in citrus, the eldritch fruit of the sleeping horror Veryfriutaflaves. I actually managed to picture it in a way that gave me a migraine. Now scarred for life, I will retreat to my crevice while taking bleeprin.
I accept your apology regarding Maglimeta.
@.@
I think we should call it Limegenta!
Where does that fall on the light spectrum?
Light has nothing to do with this one, unless we're going by Lovecraft standards.
All colour falls on the light spectrum. Unless it's a new colour that only Sues can see... kinda like how some animals can see ultraviolet light.
There's an interesting concept....
SCIENCE!
It has been suggested that Sue colours are created by the brain of the beholder.
Just what colours those really are, that's the question.
Hmm yes...This seems like it would be a color spawned by the horror that is the great old ones...LA LA' Cuthullu fat'ugn
(swats away the mini-Nightgaunts Cuthullu, Necomicon, and fat'ugn)
Now I've got three tiny dream-horrors running around in here. They're freaking out several of the mini-Agents. Zericka was just getting adjusted, and now winged horrors are taking flight-dives off of the nightstand.
I'm going to need to stop Accacia and Dees before they try to tackle one mid-swoop.
Drat, too late.
So, that's fat'ugn down. Do you want custody of it once it wakes up? I'm basically at carrying capacity for minis right now.
I can see the misspelling of Cthulhu, but what are the other two misspellings of?
And BTW, any progress betaing?
I finished it up on a school computer two days ago. I'll send it from home now, and see if you get it then. It could have been an issue on my end.
But know before you reply to my email that I read your email before reading this post.
Thanks, as always.
Necomicon is a misspelling of Necronomincon; fat'ugn is a misspelling of fhtagn, from the chant "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" ("In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming").
Heh, Thanks for that I'm a Lovecraft fan...used to run a Delta Green campgian for CoC d20 and I could never get the chant spelled right or even it in full.
(offers the mini-Nightgaunt)
You may need it to ward off the beasts who lurk in dreams. An emissary to the dark may aid in holding off the world inside our-
Ouch!
Okay, forewarning: starting overblown dramatic monologues in his presence may cause him to bite you.
Yay! I always wanted my own pet shadow thing. Might freak my roomate out but she loves dragons so she might warm up to it.
Spray it with bleach before it spreads.
