Re: On Sues

As some of you know, I don't just belong to the PPC. I also am part of other fanfic-related groups.

I was thinking about a fanfiction I had read a while back. It was in PJO and was set in an apocolyptic-type world where Sues had killed off most of the gods and OCs, so the fanfic writers created a group of people to stop it.
I'm sorry that I can't find this great story, but if you do a search for 'Mary-Sue' on the Pit under Percy Jackson, there might be one called 'the Perfect Sue Hunter' or something like that. As quoted in the fic, it takes a Sue to kill a Sue.

My first point is, is there such thing as an Anti Sue in the PPC? A Sue that is really ugly in an attepmt to make her less Suvian, but a Sue nonetheless? You may call it by a different name.
Another thing. Is there one big Sue that controls all of the Sues and Stus?
Does anyone know what a Mary Xu is, without Googling it?
My last little query is: I know there's a lot of parody Sue stories out there. What happns to those Sues? Are they left in the continumn to mess up th plot parodically, or are they killed normally by the PPC?

I hope I raised some interesting issues here.

The PPC deals with two types pf "Anti-sue". The first one seems to be what you're describing, the TVTropes-defined antiSue. Since these are often just as bad as "classic" Sues, we kill them just the same- if one isn't bad, then it's just an OC who doesn't need PPC attention. The other type is a "reformed" Sue- they could have been any “flavor” of Mary Sue or Marty Stu originally, but they've seen the light and renounced the use of their abilities. Some Agents are reformed Sues.
You may be looking for the League of Mary Sue Factories or the Mysterious Somebody.
Is it anything like a Marty Tzu?
We have a Department of Bad Parody. If the Parody isn't Bad, it is considered goodfic, and is left alone to bolster the canon. I always liked to think that the canon characters in good parodies (and the OCs) know they are in a parody, are playing along, and are as amused as everyone else.
