After such a long hiatus; I reintroduce myself by

Yup.
Sorry to spam your Board with useless information, but "IsaacTraver", that weird kid who tried to join this site but couldn't because he lost interest due to his inability to write nor have a wide attention span, has reappeared a bunch of years(?) later under a new name; "BlockMechanics". It fits. Don't judge me.
How are you all doing? I hope this site is still kicking. Because any other forums I went to is mostly dead. Or prefers to ignore my contributions. So, I guess this is my desperate attempt at crawling back to you to help me from slipping into insanity by boredom. No offense.
I have no idea how re/introducing myself works anymore, so I'm just gonna go unload any specific details about myself and my interests as a writer. I like deconstruction stories; stories that takes the whimsical norm and just pull it apart to the rotten core that it truly is. Another is the "Coming-of-age" stories, where the reluctant hero is forced to grow up and face the giant looming evil ahead for the sake of the future and himself.
Genres I like is anything with an over abundance of sci-fi, magic, or even the arcana. From the far future to the fantastic middle-ages and everything in between. Robots and golems and you get the idea. I'm a huge New-Whovian (4th and 8th is best Classic Who) and I will be very heart broken when Matt Smith leaves the set this November.
All in all, I am rather happy to see this place still running and I hope I can finally pour what time I can muster up into this site and eventually start making ridiculous demands and become an obnoxious Boarder. Again, no offense.
Look, self-deprecating is the only form of humor I know! D: -

Or just hello, as if you haven't been here for years, I certainly never would've met you.
I absolutely adore Doctor Who, but am probably more into Star Trek at this stage. Either way, sci-fi and fantasy are what keep me going.
Also, if you like deconstruction fics, may I suggest Puella Magi Madoka Magica? Brilliantly done deconstruction of the Magical Girl genre.
For a gift, I give you... um, a mini-Pandorica. Excellent for safe-keeping. -
Thanks? by

Heya there, Ayane.
Thanks for the Mini-Pandorica ... I think.
Also, I said that I'm not an avid anime watcher, so I wouldn't know. Thanks for recommending anyways. -

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!
Yeah, I saw that, but it's a short series, and it fits your deconstruction criteria pretty well.
Hope you have fun on the Board! -

I like to do world-building stories and slice of life. Haven't written recently though. I'm considering putting up a free-use chacracter in PPCverse, but I'm researching.
I am now more on anime, such as Blade of the Immortal, Full Metal Panic, Ghost in the Shell, and a few other animes. I have no love for Doctor Who, sorry.
As a gift, I have an advise for you. Humour can also be gained by stating the obvious in another light. Such as:
"Switching on the light? What do I have to switch to that is also on the light?" Oh forget it, I'm not good at this. -

Hey there, Aakmal. I enjoy a good slice-of-life story too. And I like some animes too. But I'm not an avid watcher.
And I am sorry to tell you this, but Claptrap of Borderlands 2, who can't tell even a decent pun, can explain humor better than you.
... Too bad he still doesn't know how to tell a joke that just doesn't make you implode from the cringing. -

I realize it's likely that you intended humorous joshing rather than meanly insulting, but IMO, it's not appropriate to tease people you don't know well, since you can't be certain how they'll take it. You could end up hurting somebody by accident, especially online, where you don't have facial expressions and tone of voice to modify your words.
Also, for the record, English is not Aakmal's (or several other Boarders') first language. Please bear that in mind.
You should read up on the PPC Constitution, by the way. I'm not sure when you were here last, but there have been some changes in the last couple of years, and it's a good idea to stay familiar with it anyway.
All that said, welcome back!

Seriously, that's the problem isn't it? One day someone will invent a new form of text that you can extract your emotion into and show it to the world! And then we all become zombies ...
Well, English isn't mine either and I sometimes unknowingly make huge grammatical errors. But, I appreciate you pointing it out and I'll try to keep it in mind.
I already have and all its Discworld humor.
What? No gift? D: -

It's only a 3-hour drive from here to Johor Bahru. That means we're quite close, actually. Although I'd need to take a 2-hour flight if I want to go to Sabah.

I have terrible Malay. Even then, there isn't much to fic. I'd rather spork the drama on TV because that's generally the same stuff over and over.
On another note, I never knew there was a bunch of Malaysians around here. That's rather surprising. -

And recent religious-themed stories. There are a few superhero-themed dramas I saw a few years back, and I had to admit, it's a step in the right direction. Don't know where they're heading now.
