What is the fandom(s)?
Well, more than a year after getting permission, I've finally managed to write my first mission.
Sadly, it isn't for the badfic I claimed at the time, which proved too difficult for me. But a mission is still a mission, and that's got to count for something, right?
So, does anyone want to Beta it for me? (Bear in mind, I'm not a writer, and have had no experience of the Beta experience. I don't know what's involved at all, so if you volunteer you'll literally have to talk me through the whole process step by step.)
Well, since you already have three people, I don't think you need more betas, but, due to the continuum your mission is set in, there's still something that I need to ask you. I cannot tell more details here, so contact at me at my username above plus Gmail.
Although how much help I can be rather depends on what continuum your mission is in.
For future reference, mentioning the canon(s) involved when you ask is useful, as it lets people know if they can help or not. Likewise, mentioning any special skills you'd like, such as someone to check punctuation if you're not completely confident in your own SPaG, or some to Britpick, is worthwhile. Just helps people judge how useful they're going to be able to be.
Also, PoorCynic's beta reading workshop gives some details on how the process generally works.

Thanks for that link.
Anyway, the continuum is P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves stories.
Beyond that, to be honest, I haven't really any idea of what I'm looking for. I don't know enough about writing to know what needs to be done.
As you've probably noticed from my posts here, my SPaG is mostly reasonable, so there shouldn't be too much to do there. A Britpicker would be preferred since both I and the badfic author are British.
But my main worry is my prose style, which tends to be rather dull and clunky. (I'm more used to writing reports than fiction.) So pointing out any passages where it could be better would be a really big help.
Well, I've never read any of the stories, but I have watched the TV series, so I can probably still help.

It's P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves stories. Sorry for not mentioning it, but I was just so excited at actually having finished writing something!
The badfic has a woobiefied, suicidal Bertie Wooster who wangsts about his tragic childhood past full of sexual abuse, before Jeeves cures him with healing sex.
I've only read two Jeeves stories (Right Ho, Jeeves and Mating Season, to be exact); I'm not sure whether that's enough canon knowledge, but I can check for PPC-ness, flow, etc anyway. Email is sur DOT nhm AT gmail DOT com.
Right Ho, Jeeves is the only story directly referenced in the fic, so you shouldn't have any problems.
(In fact, I haven't read all the Jeeves stories myself. But I don't think the badfic author has read any, considering how OOC both the characters are!)
I admit, though, even though I've beta'd a lot these past couple of years, I'm still not one to explain everything. Contact me when other people have looked at it, okay? ^^ Don't want to nitpick everything, though I don't really expect to.
