I got a review from RattyTheScourge, the author of the Redwall badfic I sporked. Her review was this:
"Haha, The best way to improve my English - read this! (By the way, I translate my fanfic again)"
So I went and checked it again, and my mind was blown! She actually made it make sense in English! Cleaned up the spelling, punctuation, etc. And it's not bad, for a reframed fic. Is anyone else happy?

It's nice that she was amused, rather than hurt - this is why we Steve for humor over bashing! That's awesome, dude. Because I write infrastructure rather than missions, I've never had anything like this - but I did once have someone write to me a few years after I'd left them a very detailed review of everything wrong with their story (I know, I know - on the one hand, jerk move- on the other hand, she was a teenaged assassin with kills in the thousands, who outmaneuvered George Cooper and Alanna of Trebond at their peak… and I was young and hotheaded). She told me she'd been pissed for a while, but after some time looked back and realized she really had let that story get away from her, and she wanted to improve it.
I do believe, though, this may be the first time I've seen an author respond to a mission based on their fic with good humor and an edit. That's awesome! Good for her - and you.
Good times! -
