Subject: Regarding HooklinesÂ….

I posted a thread a long time ago with various hooklines for a low-fantasy book I'm still outlining, with the working title of Shadow Heart. My main problem, according to Iximax (thanks for telling me of this, Ixi!), was that the hooklines I showed did not give any mention of the actual storyline. So, I redid and redid and redid them some more and came up with a few new ones. Out of the feedback you give me, I just want to know only these few things:

Does it give a snippet of storyline?
Are there clear stakes in store?
Is it tangible (in other words, could you imagine the consequences?)?
Does it interest you? (If it doesn't, that's fine. Not all genres appeal to all people. This is an optional question.)

So, here are some new premises:

"After being unfairly accused and exiled, a swordsman seeks for answers in a troubled country."

"An exiled swordsman seeks revenge against a monarch and peace for his own heart in an unstable country."

"Exiled from a capital governed by the best fighter in the land, a swordsman finds that things aren't as stable as he believed them to be."
