Again, if I can summon up the will, I might try it. Urk, that doesn't sound good at all.. But thank you. I can't even talk :(

I hate to spam the Board, but my throat is killing me. Do you guys know any homemade remedies for sore throats? Honestly, I've never had one this bad. I just woke up yesterday and swallowing hurt..
Crush 1 - 2 cloves of garlic into a paste and dissolve it in a glass of warm milk. If you want, you may sweet it with honey.
I know it sounds yucky, but trust me - works like actual magic. Garlic has both anti-bacterial and anti-virus properties.

1) Dissolve half a teaspoon of salt in one cup of salt water and gargle. Repeat several times per day. This works wonders for me whenever I get a really bad cold.
2) Drink iced water. Not only does it feel good on the throat it also keeps you hydrated.
Hope this helps!
I never really learned how to gargle, but I'll try to summon up the will to get the water- I really need more fluids. Man, I hate being sick :(
Tea, Earl Grey, hot. Preferably with honey. However, if it persists for more than a couple of days and/or is accompanied with other symptoms you should consider going to a doctor.
You can also add lemon, and whiskey if you're okay with alcohol. (I don't drink for reasons of family history, but I've been known to drop a capfull in my tea for flavor on occasion. Also, it kills germs!) I prefer regular ol' black tea for this sort of thing, myself. Anything good and strong that can stand up to the other flavors, like an Assam or Ceylon or Lipton.
If you want to try the herbal route, I'm a big fan of Yogi's Throat Comfort tea. The licorice makes it naturally sweet, and it just feels nice going down. You can probably find it in the tea or specialty goods section of your local megamart.
Feel better soon!

I didn't have any Earl Grey, but I tried it with black tea. It helped! That comfort tea sounds nice.. Thank you!
If I do not already have some, I shall look into procuring it- thanks!
