I've heard of a few in Portland. Never went. Too busy.
On February 16-17, there's going to be U-Con at UConn. It's an anime, video game, etc convention, completely free to get in, held in the Student Union of Storrs campus.

So, anyone who wants to come?
I'm in the same situation as son-of-heaven176, unfortunately. Maybe another time.
(I'd like to take this opportunity to recommend the Book Expo in June, though. Because free books. I think it's in the Javits Center this year?)
New Yorker here, but alas, I have no way to get to Connecticut. But I have a brother in UConn, so I should hear about it from him (hopefully).
It sounds awesome, but sadly, I have no way to come. Tell us all about it, kay?
Though I am on the east coast (New Jersey), I am otherwise occupied that weekend, not to mention that I don't really have a way to Connecticut in the first place. Have fun for me, those of you that are going!
As I said below, this might be my last chance for quite a while to meet East Coast PPCers, so I'm definitely interested. I'll have to look at my work schedule to figure out a time, but totally going if at all possible.
Were I not already attending a free Con this coming weekend, I would totally make the trip out from Chicago. I'm afraid I can't skip AlmaCon, though. I'm running a panel in the biggest room, and I wouldn't want to disappoint my fans.
-Phobos, no ego here...honest.
WHY ARE THERE NEVER ANY CONS IN NOR CAL?!
(No, I'm not mad about this, you're crazy.)
Maybe around Seattle, like. Because we have relatives in the Seattle area, and a surprise visit never killed any of our relatives...
There have been two in Seattle in the last three years, around Emerald City ComicCon, but I think they were before both of your time. The reason I've been prodding people on the IRC about an (North)East Coast Gathering is actually because in about a month, I'll be leaving the area semi-permanently, so it might be my last chance in this region to meet all you folks 'round here.
But yes, there are definitely Northwest US Gatherings.
I wonder of sommat like that's happening again sometime soon?
Also, you're moving? Where to?
I know quite a few of us are going to most likely be at ECCC, but I have no idea if there are official Gathering plans in the works.
(Yup! To Washington! The state, not the Capitol.)
I'll just have to watch the Board EVEN MORE OBSESSIVELY! :D
Yay, you'll be on the west coast! I'd prepare a welcome to the west party, but it's a long drive and I'm lazy. So I'll just throw virtual confetti at you. -throws virtual confetti at you-
