I think you and I are going to get along just fine, dude! :D
What about you guys? What are your favorite songs? Or, ones you like to listen to just to have a laugh.
Personally, my favorite song of all time is "Fear of the Dark" by Iron Maiden, but I have this habit of listening to weird, or old, songs and memorizing them. Some of those include:
- Mary Poppins (almost every single one of them)
- Fiddler on the Roof (see above)
- Rocky Horror Picture Show (Touch-a touch-a touch-a touch me~♪)
So, yeah... I may, or may not, be quoting a lot of songs in my missions :D
And Carpe Noctem from Tanz Der Vampires/Dance of the Vampires. Now /that\ is a rock song. I can post a link of anyone wants to hear it.
And Defying Gravity and As Long As You're Mine from Wicked.
Well, Justin Bieber, for one.
I'll listen to and appreciate just about everything, though my favorite genres are jazz and metal.
Some of my favorite artists are Scatman John, Johnny Cash, Disturbed, Halestorm, and Gemini Syndrome.
Wizard rock. Basically, fan music about Harry Potter. (Yes, I'm obsessed with the series.) Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls is my #1 favorite band, with "Open at the Close" being their best song in my opinion. It's very haunting and I dare you to listen to it and not cry.
Most of my other favorite songs come from My Little Pony ("Winter Wrap-Up", "This Day Aria") or Phineas and Ferb ("Gitchee Gitchee Goo", "There's a Platypus Controlling Me"), or they're Minecraft remakes/ original songs ("Revenge", "Take Back the Night"), so you can really tell I'm a nerd. XD
Other than that, though, I don't really listen to a whole lot of music outside of when I'm driving, though I'm a fan of Green Day and Three Doors Down (especially "Kryptonite"). Also Queen, The Black Eyed Peas, and REM.
Basically everything this man does is gold. He mostly does rap about comic books, movies, cartoons, etc. but he has some stuff about life in general, and my favorite is one of those, called "Bipolar".
I first heard it as a cover by the mostly Acapella(?) band, "Van Canto".
Here's the how they do Guitar "RIDLEYDIDLYDIDLYDIDLYDIDLYDIDLYDIDLY! DON! DON!" ...Oddly enough this is still my favorite version.
"Linkin Parks" older music is pretty high on my list, as well as "America", "Josh Groban", and some of "Disturbed". 'I'm a believer' that I can find a song I like in any genre if I look hard enough.
Anyone a fan of Musicals written for plays? Specifically "Jekyll and Hyde" I found it a year or so back, and still haven't stopped listening.
Mine's the Anthony Warlow original soundtrack, that man has God's personal pipes.
I think you and I are going to get along just fine, dude! :D
Not counting video game tunes because we'll be here forever if I do (Pokémon and Legend of Zelda in particular)...
-Chameleon Circuit's first album (haven't heard any tracks from Still Got Legs yet)
-Led Zeppelin's Mothership album (except No Quarter, Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, or Since I've Been Lovin' You)
-U2. Just...U2.
-The Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack (all of it)
-Sing by My Chemical Romance
-Superheroes by The Script
-Taylor Swift during her country and country-pop phases (slightly guilty pleasure)
-Chopin's Prelude in E minor and Nocturne in C# minor
And that's just a partial list of my favorites. Yeah. I'm a big music person.
But I preferred The Black Parade personally. That is still one of my favorite albums of all time.
But if I had to take a top five list it would be this:
1. Wish I had an Angel Nightwish
2. Welcome to the Black Parade My Chemical Romance
3. Livin' on the Edge Aerosmith
4. Sacrimony Kamelot
5. Livin' on a Prayer Bon Jovi
Adding a few more...
6. Enter Sandman Metallica
7. Rock You Like a Hurricane the Scorpions
Heck, I'll list a few more in no particular order.
Dream On Aerosmith
We weren't Born to Follow Bon Jovi
Storytime Nightwish
Planet Hell Nightwish
Black Flag Airiel Down
Do You Hear the People Sing Les Mis.
Phantom of the Opera Nightwish Cover
Run for the Hills Iron Maiden
The Howling Within Temptation
You know what...I'll just list a few bands I am partial to.
1. Nightwish
2. Kamelot
3. Aerosmith
4. Bon Jovi
5. My Chemical Romance
6. Sonata Arctica
7. The Scorpions
8. Within Temptation
9. The Dubliners
10. Metallica
Its probably just easier to say I like a lot of different kinds of music, but really like Classic Metal and Symphonic Metal.
To finish off, a few soundtracks that also get quite a lot of playtime.
1. Spamalot
2. Phantom of the Opera
3. Les Mis
4. Wicked
I love anything by Chameleon Circuit and President Romana. They both make awesome trock.
Outside of fandoms? Hm, well, I have a thing for One Republic. But I'm fairly stunted as far as popular music goes.
Oh yeah! Still Alive and Want You Gone (although I haven't played Portal 2 yet) and the Turret Opera.
Oh dear, fandom stuff again.
Our Lord Gaben made it so: take a look. "Hard Sunshine" is my favourite out of all of them.
Can you also find the Easter Egg comic hidden on the download page?
And I laughed harder than I should've. Thanks, by the way!
I like movie soundtracks too, in fact, their basically the only music I actively invest money in... But my music tastes are pretty varied. When it comes to music with vocals, I prefer faster songs or at least songs with a heavy beat. I can be pretty picky about what the vocalists sound like but I've been working on not judging so much and trying to branch out. I listen to a lot of instrumental music, that's the only place that I can really stand slow songs.
But wow, band wise, I'm really into Twenty One Pilots right now.
And that's it!
...Rock the Casbah, by the Clash. Brilliant bass in that song.
And a whole collection of video game tunes:
-Federation, from FTL: Faster Than Light. Music by Ben Prunty.
-Blazing White Yang! Vs. Reshiram, from Pokémon Black. Music by Junichi Masuda.
-The menu theme from Metroid Prime. Music by Kenji Yamamoto.
-The theme from this segment from Mass Effect 3 [Spoilers!]. Music by Clint Mansell.
I usually listen to a lot of game and movie soundtracks, not actual, you know, radio music. So my top [X] would probably be something along the lines of
-The Dark Maker Ship theme from Jak III,
-The District 9 opening music,
-Nuclear Mission Jam from Half-Life, and
-Cascade, from Homestuck.
