Do you play Space Station 13? Because in some branches (Goon and those adapting Goon-style chemistry) Krokodil exists and does quite precisely that.
In real life things are slightly different, the 'skin-melting' effect mostly comes from impurities and toxic by-products causing necrosis (and worse) when injected.
Of course, desomorphine is still one hell of a nasty drug.
I was wondering if there was a rule against it. Because I have something to add. Krokodil, which is a heroin substitute that happens to melt you. Do NOT look this up, trust me, it is not pretty.

The banned substances list is not meant to be an exhaustive breakdown of every nasty drug or poison. It'd never end if that were the case. I would argue that the list be reserved for substances that agents could be likely to encounter during the course of a mission. That would mean substances that are either:
-- Canonically important or otherwise prone to showing up in a specific canon (FEV in Fallout, Pax in Firefly, or meth in Breaking Bad); or
-- Likely to be used in badfic for one reason or another.
Desomorphine is definitely nasty, but it also doesn't seem to be particularly common knowledge outside of specific countries. I know DemonFiren mentioned that it was part of the game Space Station 13, but said game does not seem to have a great deal of fanfiction associated with it that I could find (in an admittedly very quick search).
So yeah. There isn't a rule. But that doesn't necessarily mean you should add it regardless.
...So I figured that perhaps it should be added. I don't know how many people here are from Russia, but it's a big place, so I thought Russian boarders might not be too rare. Krokodil is like the crystal meth of Russia, and meth is banned, but if there are too few Russians here for it to matter, then I won't bother adding it. Just figured I should mention it in case anyone else was thinking it.

I've just got a lot of really nasty knowledge (Don't ask why, I don't even know) about various horrible things. And you are right about the impurities in most cases. The worst, though, are because it either can be made with hydrochloric acid, or because it is a byproduct of synthesis.
So, slight topic change, would you recommend Space Station 13? I know some guys on the /tg/ 4chan sub-board that play it.
Mostly because 'Space Station 13' is spread out over quite a few different codebases with quite a few different ways of playing it.
The three biggest ones are Baystation 12 (heavy RP, brutally unforgiving medical and atmospherics system), Goonstation (no RP whatsoever, everything has the potential for being hilariously deadly and you are expected to prepare and suspect everyone) and /tg/station (middle ground, my current home.)
