Well, I was, and then I started watching Doctor Who, and it got all slippery-wippery and timey-wimey.
So I guess I'm halfway there or something.

...once I've got permission, and have actually managed to see the movie! Until then, feel free to report some of those badfics you're talking about, and I'm sure someone (...probably me, judging from my general mindset about Tolkien badfic...) will get angry enough from reading them to claim one or more to PPC.
(Ah, yes. Poor Kili. I think the entire fandom's fallen in love with him. Poor, poor guy. And I got this just from stumbling on someone's tumblr, mind. It's a bit insane, really).
Also, like everyone else is saying, if you're new, pleased to meet you!

Or more precisely the lack thereof, combined with Stuff I Need To Do. I haven't even looked in on the Hobbit section, because I don't have time. Or energy. Sleeeeeep...
That said, when I /do/ have time, I'll probably dust off an agent and send them (kicking and screaming) in to do something about it... this is our history, after all.

And I'd like to add that it's only February, the Hobbit movie came out in December, and it takes time to write a good mission. Even if someone's working on one, it might not be done yet. Patience, my friend. :)
Also, Tolkienverse might not be where we want to send our agents. I plan to work in the Star Trek division. That's okay. We spork what we want to spork. Someone will probably want to spork Hobbit badfic, but for some people like me it isn't our top priority.
Lastly, if you're new, welcome! We love newbies!
Well, if I can get a good look at the list... by

I MIGHT be able to start working on an MST of one of them, at the very least.
But that's about as far as I care to take myself in terms of tackling the ficsplosion.

But I found a particular nasty one- several, actually- and I was intending on posting them to the Unclaimed Badfic list soon.

1) Don't think we've met. Have you introduced yourself yet?
2) Who knows what people are working on right now? I don't. Could be that someone is about to release a Hobbit mission.
3) People may never get around to doing Hobbit missions. This is not likely, but it is possible. There is no reason that they need to, after all. People will work on what they feel like and, if no one cares much about the Hobbit movie, it may never come up.
4) Think it really needs to be taken care of? Get permission and have at it. If you want something done right, do it yourself, right?

...but often we have several fics queued up in the wings, to be missioned at-will. I know I have quite a few bookmarked in a folder on my browser, but simply because there's been a ficsplosion in one continua doesn't automatically mean that we'll all be rushing over to do battle. That's the joy of the PPC-- you can pick and choose when and where you fight (even if your agents can't).
