anybody want to read something? by

Because I have a 40K fanfic that I've been writing off and on for a while, and I might want to turn it into a new actual project. If it sucks, I'll finish it so I can spork it at some point. If I can't spork my own fic, then it's up for grabs.
Just reply with your email if you're interested. -

I'm only mildly familiar with WH40K, so I probably won't be able to catch the finer points, but I'd love to read a WH40K fic. Mail is sur DOT nhm AT gmail DOT com.

But I would be willing to read through it sometime next week. I have a few other projects I need to do first. If you want me to take a look at it, if you could provide a short post kind of giving the bare-bones of the Warhammer Universe, so I have something to start my Wiki Run on, I would be happy to take a look at it.

40K is THE crappiest place to live. The good guys are either The Imperium of Man, who are basically catholic space-Nazis. The other good guys are The Tau Empire, and they are basically communist space-Nazis. You should look up the Imperial guard, the Space Marines and the Orks, as well. The bad guys are mass murdering evil cultists, and the comic relief are the Orks, who are like Football Hooligans in space. They also kill lots of people. Eternal war, evil gods, evil Eldar. Oh, and paperwork takes so long to be filed that you will be dead before your birth certificate ever gets filed. Yeah, did I mention it sucks to live there?

If you want me to take a look at it you can send an Email to evilaiuberoverlord@gmail.com
But as I said, I won't be able to take a look at it until next week. Just let me know if there is anything specific you are looking for. -

I explicitly said it was a 40K fanfic.
As in, Warhammer 40000. If you meant I should mention it in the subject line, then perhaps you should specify that. But on any other forum I've been on, most people at least read the beginning parts of posts. If things are different here, then you should say so when someone slips up. -
A forty-thousand-word fanfic, you say? by

See, 40K stands for forty thousand, and people unfamiliar with Warhammer could very reasonably assume that you were referring to the length of the fanfic.

I am assuming people here use fan-speak? by

And this is an actual question. Because if we don't use fan-speak, communicating things will be a pain. And if nobody else here is familiar with the use of 40K as shorthand for Warhammer 40000, I'd be surprised, simply because of it's gargantuan fanbase.

But it would get pretty krastik around here if I went around jibbering about arns and loomas and mivonks and other yotz all the time. I don't want to be a frelling trasnik, so I keep it to myself. I'd have to be tinked to make out like gardas and nixars are welnitzes for not being all blez with it when they've never been to the Uncharted Territories.

Yes, we use fanspeak, but... by

...it depends on what you'll think of first when you see a certain phrase. And alos because if the thousands of fanbases. Caution is key. I, for one, did not know that you meant a warhammer at all.
Also, that question seems a little rude. Any fan will use fanspeak when he loves a certain fandom. You see fanspeak being used in mission fics all the time, like in the exclamations. So yes, of course we do. -

It's just that I've only ever heard 40K being used to describe Warhammer 40000. I'm just trying to clarify things for future reference. So far, it looks like I don't want to open with fanspeak, and instead use common terminology, at least to start with. I originally assumed 40K would have a huge fan presence here, if only because it's a gargantuan fandom. So, again, I meant no offense, just trying to clarify things so I don't screw up so bad in the future. I'm really tempting fate by saying that, aren't I?

We don’t even share all the same native language, nor do we share the same fandoms.
Just consider always that people may genuinely not understand you, and don’t jump to conclusions, then you should be fine.
