I'd wager that it'd be stuff we can't understand with modern science showing up. Clarke's Law may well be in full effect for it.

I'm curious, though - won't it be a little... out of its time? The X-Files was very much a product of the era when 'UFO' and 'alien' were supernatural, or at best pseudoscientific, terms - we watched the entire first series in a week a few months ago, and I started twitching every time Mulder did one of his 'your human science can't hope to understand'... y'know, space flight, or genetics, or whatever easy-to-understand scientific concept he was going on about at the time... speeches.
But I... think we're out of that period now? Aren't we? The idea of aliens and suchlike is something which TV has shown we can study, not just wave our hands in the air and proclaim 'IT IS A MYSTERY'. No?
(Of course, it may well have gotten 'out of its time' and adapted to that during the original run. Series 1 is the only one I've seen any significant chunks of.)

I really would like to see the series updated for the modern paranormal mythos. It'd be interesting to see what they'd do with a world that now contains creepypastas, neurological pseudoscience, and so on.

How the heck did they talk David Duchovny into that? I had the impression that he was happily done with the whole thing. Was I wrong? Or maybe they're just paying him a ridiculous amount of money...
Still, I'll be interested to see if this is any good. {= )
