I know internet drama is not much of what the PPC is about, but this is important news for anybody who uses the internet.

Today, the FCC has voted 3-2 to maintain Net Neutrality laws. If you do not know what Net Neutrality is, basically, it mandates that ISPs cannot restrict data to or from websites, nor provde so-called "fast lanes" for premium prices. If you want to know more, Last Week Tonight covered the issue, and explains both net neutrality and why it is important.

That said, cable companies and ISPs are not happy. Verizon has responded with, to be frank, the most delicious salt I have read in a long time.

Even better news, the Republican party has stated that they will not introduce legislation to counteract this. They have even hinted at being open to some of Obama's plans for the internet, which includes making the internet a utility. Things seem to be changing on the interwebs. Things we should all keep an eye on.
