Well, welcome to the PPC! Say, are you acquinted with Total Drama? I need helpers.
Hey, I just discovered ppc about a week ago, and it sounds like a ton of fun. I'm a nerdy Asian high school girl who lives in a tiny town in Virginia. Right now, my current fandoms are Game of Thrones, Supernatural, and Sherlock (BBC). I'll stick around for a while before I write a mission, so try not to be bugged by my questions. I'm actually really surprised at how little Supernatural stuff is on here, but me and my friend will change that. So, uh, hi :)
It seems I did. Sorry. Let's change that :)
Hi! Welcome to the Board! I hope you enjoy your time here (and have been enjoying it so far)!
Ooh, SPN and Sherlock? Glad to hear that. And I agree, there are far too few SPN missions; but there seem to be three (four?) of us so far who will be willing to change that once we've got permission, so...well, in the words of quite a few characters from A Very Potter Musical, "it's gonna be totally awesome!"
For your (belated) welcome gift, have some Bleepolate (which seems to be my signature gift by now), as well as a bag of rock salt. You never know when you'll need it! :)
~DawnFire
Hi, have some fudge!
Welcome to the PPC! I'm KittyNoodles, and for your newbie gift I present you with bleepnerds and your choice of confetti or a welcome huggle! :D
(Don't worry about asking lots of questions - it's how we all learn, after all! Just don't make a new thread each and every time you've got a question - 's better to hijack a related thread and ask than to have twenty different threads going! :D)
Superlock? Sounds fantastic! (Although I haven't watched Supernatural... yet...)
Have some lemming repellent!
Actually, I'm a Superwholockian. Fun to say, that word. You should definitely try Supernatural if you like your comedies dark.
Thank you for your gift, but excuse me for asking, why would I need lemming repellent? :)
It's for the Circle of Lemmings (aka Quotev), a site that surpasses the Pit of Voles (FFnet) for its disgusting amounts of Sueness.
Lemmings, lemmings everywhere! Sues in all your fandoms!
Beware, wary traveller, beware.
Welcome! It seems that we newbies are proliferating quite prodigiously.
As for your gift, I give you a genuine Pokemon-verse bag of holding. Guaranteed to hold more stuff than should physically be possible!
Welcome to the Board~ Welcome~ and have some chocolates, as well, as some homemade rock-solid muffins that are for throwing purposes only.
Is Game of Thrones really good? I haven't read those yet..
Pros: Well developed characters, realistic world, gripping and unpredictable plot, books are long so they last longer, untraditional and uncliched, lovely prose.
Cons: Action moves a bit slowly - six books and you still don't really know who's winning, it's easy to get lost while reading (that's what wikipedia is for), author publishes books at a really slow rate, female characters aren't really well developed.
Things you may not like: lots of sex scenes, including ones with underage girls, crapsack world, nobody is truly good (everyone acts like a jerk at some point), many many POV's, anyone can die.
Basically, this series is for lovers of really dark fantasy and action. For me, the pros outweigh the cons, but I can't speak for everyone. I definitely think it's worth a try, though. And after the first book, you get used to the screwy POV's.
OH YEAH
I appreciate the enthusiasm. *shakes fist lamely* Represent!
Greetings, new friend! Have a ticket to a free stroll through the Quiet of the Night.
We love newbies around here! Just remember to leave your sanity at the door and everything'll be fine.
Here, as a welcome gift, I'll link you to some music by one Pierre Boulez: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyGe6tD9Vfw
I give you a virtual pair of chopsticks made from cyanide and happiness. Decorative only, try not to eat with it.
You're really tempting fate there.
I hope I didn't hurt your feelings, I really mean no harm on that 'gift'. I'm really sorry.
Please don't be sorry! I wasn't mad at all, just trying to make a lame joke :P Sorry for seeming mad, heheh. And I will use the cyanide chopsticks frequently, mostly for sneakily assassinating my enemies.
Well, welcome to the PPC! Say, are you acquinted with Total Drama? I need helpers.
I've watched quite a bit of the original series, but none of the spin offs. It is entertainingly stupid (:
High five! Supernatural, aw yeah!
For a welcome gift? Hmm...have an Archangel's Sword, you never know when it might come in handy, right? :)
Hello there!
"Current fandoms" :) That reminds me of my almost-crazy-fangirl friend, who gets a new obsession every now and then. Here, have a giant box of granola bars! Delicious any time of the day!
Have a tiger-print deerstalker! Also, we won't get annoyed at your questions. We love newbies. :)
Thank you for your...interesting gift. I will wear it during Sue Stalking, and strike fear into the hearts of my enemies.
Welcome to our humble abode. I admit, it's not much, but we made do with the materials we had. But what do you expect from a place made out of POST-its and a BOARD!
(That was...)
Clever? Amusing? Punny?
(Anvilisious.)
Anvil... what does Anvilisious mea-*CLUNK*
(It means it was worthy of anvils on your head.)
(Hello, my name's Jumper. Sorry for what World-Jumper did back there, but I'm sure someone, somewhere thinks his puns are funny. Anyway, this is not about him, it's about greeting you!)
(Before we continue, there are particular questions I must ask you, because if I don't, someone else will. They are:
1. Have you read The Original Seres, the Constitution and/or any other missions or Official Fanfiction Universities?
2. How did you find the PPC?
3. Since you seem to want to write missions, specifically for Supernatural badfic it seems, do you have an idea of what department you want your agent(s) to join?
4. Would you rather face 100 short badfics, or one Legendary badfic?
Answer the questions now, and avoid having to answer them later!)
(Now for the matter of your gift. Game of Thrones fan, hmmm... Here, have a chess game with all the pieces as various chairs and thrones!)
(*CLUNK*)
Payback... is... served... *faints again*
Wow, I didn't know I'd be getting so many comments! Thanks for saying hi. To answer World Jumper's questions:
I've read the Original Series and I think its hilarious. I read the constitution because apparently, its one of requirements for n00bs.
I found PPC through Tvtropes, my one true internet love.
Imma have three agents : myself, my best friend, and my little bro (they all exist in real life). Me and my best friend (mwahaha I'm evil like that) are probably gonna be in the Department of Bad Slash, and me and my bro are gonna be in the Department of Mary Sues.
And I would rather face one hundred short badfics. Trust me, I'd get bored with the long badfic, and I'd get to fight more Sues and demons.
Surprisingly, one of my main concerns is finding badfic for my fandoms (weird, huh?). Most of the fanfics that I have found in my long hours of hunting are surprisingly literate, so I'd be happy to take suggestions, especially for Sherlock and Supernatural.
Welcome the Board! Have some of my world-famous hydrophobic water to commemorate the event. Totally not involved with the Total Perspetive Vortex, no sir.
If you're looking for more PPC stuff to read, be sure to check out the Original Series, the basis of all our spinoffs. After that, you might want to wander over to The Complete List of PPC Fiction for a... well, complete list of every mission written, ever.
While you're at it, don't forget to brush up on the requirements for obtaining Permission to write your own PPC stories!
Have fun!
Thanks for the links. And the paradoxical(?) water.
Here's a forest green tiger plushie.
(Couldn't pass up the opportunity to make a visual pun...)
A SuperSherlockian! Good to meet you! Sherlockian myself and recently got into Supernatural too. And Game of Thrones is great as well.
PPC indeed is a ton of fun, as long as you leave your sanity at the door. :)
A gift? Yes, a gift! Have a Reichenbach bow with arrows. It makes your enemies feel the pain of Reichenbach when the arrows hit them.
Thanks to everyone who said hi to the newbie, and for your generous gifts. Welcome, Constellation, to the world of Supernatural. Once you get in, you can never escape. Muaha haha! (Sanity? What sanity?).
