Perhaps we could have the exorcizing agent download it on her phone or something to that effect.

Working on a co-write into How to Train Your Dragon, and I was wondering what to use for an exorcism portion. The source books don't seem right because they're practically a different canon, abridged novelizations also seem very sketchy, and using DVD's and Bluray things feels somewhat strange for two relatively younger agents, especially with how flimsy they are and how they're going to be used as blunt implements. Are there good alternatives out there, or have exorcisms been done without the use of source material at all?
TBH I think a DVD/Blu-ray box would work fine—it's the concentration of canon doing the work as a "holy" object, not the physical mass. It's just more satisfying to smack a possessed character with something more solid. {= )
But Gall (who is from there) would definitely lend your agents her canonical-enough mace or even herself and Fellrazer if they asked. She will be offended she wasn't given the mission in the first place, and she might try to coerce some kind of payment out of the agents for her services, but leaning on the fact that it's her home will sway her.
And I'm happy to look over the mission for you if you want to borrow her, too!

Ooh, that's something I didn't necessarily think of with the mace. I really like the idea that an object only needs to be canonical, rather than be a physical representation of the canon itself.
Anyway, since you're willing, Fox and I could fit in a cameo for Gall. It would be a fun plotbunny to include in the mission, and we most certainly would appreciate a beta offer, especially from you. We'd be honored to include her.

Yeah, like I said, it's canon-ness taking the place of holiness in a Christian-style exorcism, so while a holy text is good, so's a holy symbol. And, for the record, other methods of casting out evil from other traditions (real or fictional!) can work just as well. It's simply a matter of how much stock the agents put in the process.
Of course, smacking things is fun, and definitely Gall's style, haha. If she does get to go herself, it occurred to me she could potentially sock the offending character while gripping a stick drive with the movies on it. She could then use the mace to disperse the wraith. ^_^ And of course, if there's anything uncanonical that needs to be set on fire, there's Fellrazer. Gall also sells Monstrous Nightmare gel for the low, low price of "Whaddayagot?" {= D

Was to have one of my Agents play the movie on her wristphone (basically a standalone smartwatch before they were a thing, since the character was from a Ten Years Hence story written several years ago) and slap the exorcism target on the head with it.
Perhaps we could have the exorcizing agent download it on her phone or something to that effect.

You know.
Because it's a torrent.
... I'll get my coat.
I think I've played it, or seen it played, as sometimes taking a bit longer than using a book or DVD or whatever other physical material, but the agents quoting a scene back and forth, or several of them, or a selection of lines, is an option.

hard canon objects weren't available, and the agents used animated GIF files the fic took from the canon's official website as if they were hard objects. The possibilities are endless.
Which mission was this, again?

Not one of my better works tbh.
