  1. Remember that writing is first and foremost something that you do because you want to. It's very, very nice if it ends up pleasing others, but if that's the only reason you're doing it, 90% of the process is not going to be much fun. Writing is hard work and takes a lot of time, so make sure you're doing it because you enjoy it. If that's not the case, then yeah, you might want to give it up and find a hobby that actually makes you happy.

    2. Assuming that you're writing this story because you love the idea and you're excited to create something with it: You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can never please all the people all the time. There will always be someone who disagrees with you or doesn't like what you're doing, but don't let them make you forget about the people who like it—including yourself.

    3. Getting negative reviews sucks, but it never hurts to think earnestly about what they have to say. In this case, can you make your story more original and more funny going forward? If so, do it! Always push to make your work better than it was before, and remember that you can't make that happen by quitting.
