"Lady Palutena?"

"Yes, Pit?"

"What is this weird pointy thing with spiky blond hair doing here in your temple?"

Palutena looked first at her servant, who was standing at the door to her chamber, and then at the corner in front of her. She chuckled before responding, "Pit, this is Cloud Acton. He's a New angle, and he'll be joining you in... How do I word this..."

She pulled out her spectacles and put them on before reading the letter she had receieved that morning. "...a new 'aventure' with plot twists, acton, and a batle for the very word. Either the writer of this message has questionable grammar, or we're going to be fighting to protect grammar itself."

"Who am I supposed to see, then? The god of language?" asked Pit, fluffing his wings indignantly. "I don't even know how to read!"

"You? Illiterate?!" Cloud looked about as surprised and slightly insulted as an acute spiky-haired angle could get. "Everyone and their DOG knows how to read, you idiot! Why haven't you learned how yet?"

"You'll have to do that very, very quickly," said Palutena. "We may have to round up some missing letters across the land... Perhaps there may be some running around right now that have escaped this very message!"

Right on cue, a stray lowercase letter d ran by. Pit and Cloud followed it with their gazes, speechless, and then looked back to her.

"Anything else we need to know?" asked Cloud. "I could use a little help if I am to gain any more dimensions than this."

"Apparently, we're supposed to be saying curses now, us gods I mean. Does that mean I get to turn whomever's causing all these letters to fly off the sheets."

"Hades? That's my first guess," said Pit.

The letter d ran up to Palutena's leg and muttered something, accompanied by a lowercase i. She pursed her lips. "No, not Hades... Hades Revenge. No relation to the Hades we defeated, apparently. It seems that all the letters are whispering this person's name out of fear."

"But why would Hades Revenge want to scare away all these letters?" asked Cloud.

"One way to find out," said Pit. "I'll go get my Orb Staff. It's about time I learn how to spell!"
