I want to though. I simply haven't gotten around to it.
So, after three days of wandering through random PPC stories staring at stuff, it's occurred to me it may be a good idea to stop lurking like Gollum got a job as a private detective and present myself on this board whatsit. PPC is just kind of a lovely idea to me because snarky multidimensional overworked exorcist/assassins aaaaa
Anyway. I'm Pinkie (unless that's taken, it is an incredibly generic name and I'd rather not step on anyone’s toes), and I write stuff and occasionally get the masochistic urge to read horrible fanfiction, which is how I got here. Mostly I'm not sure if, beyond the original series as a starting point, there's any kind of recommended reading order for PPC? Personally, I find it a little confusing to read about a new pair of agents a fic (admittedly, I've been picking them by fandom instead of pair, and the point where there was a Pokémon with an exaggerated German accent it took me far too long to parse is the point where I gave up and wandered over here), so if there's some kind of order I missed somewhere that would be helpful? Thanks!
Have a bouquet of immortal roses. At random intervals, they spew Rammstein from speakers in their leaves.
I suppose you've done a bit more reading by now. Who are your favorite agents so far?
It looks like you're accumulating a lot of stuff, so here's an actual Pokemon-trainer-issue Bag of Holding!
Welcome, welcome. Make yourself comfortable. Here, have a slice of Infinite Pizza
As others have said, there's no official recommended reading order, but I have assembled a list of spin-offs I personally think are good introductory material for newbies. You will find said list here on the wiki. Many of them are good and long, so you'll have some time before meeting each new pair. {= ) Enjoy!
~Neshomeh
As for a gift, have a Space Hamster. Just be careful your clone doesn't throw it in garbage.
Good to have you aBoard. Here, take this map of Tamriel, it might come in handy if you get stuck there on a mission.
As I see you're an Elder scrolls fan, what's your favorite game? Mine's Oblivion.
Welcome aboard!
I gather you're an Undertale fan? Here, have this fun, little fan-made encounter I found. It's pretty cute except when it's not.
Enjoy! I hope you'll enjoy your stay with us!
Nice to see a new face. Here, have some Bloffee - you'll need it, I think.
As far as order goes, the Original Series comes first. Beyond that, each agent pair has its own timeline (which missions came after which other missions, et cetera), but there's no real overarching timeline that needs following.
I'm Mochi, resident lurker and nickname extraordinaire!
Have a small bottle of bleeprin! That's brain bleach + aspirin, in case you haven't seen any in a story yet, and it's an important tool for overcoming the pain of badfics! Let's see, what else do I have to give... How about this Pokémon egg? I don't remember what it's going to hatch into, so it'll be a nice surprise, I think. It's probably not something dangerous.
Giving gifts to new people is pretty much PPC tradition - I hope you have room for all this random stuff. :P
What are your fandoms, out of curiosity? There's a whole host of people here from all sorts of different fandoms, so it might be easier for people to suggest series to read if we know what kinda stuff you'd prefer. :P
Since I was on the subject of OOTS, have some extra-strength keoghtum ointment, courtesy of strip No. 863. This stuff will cure anything short of death. http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0863.html
*tosses confetti* Welcome aBoard, my new friend! Glad to see another newbie on here. Also, I'm not the shiniest anymore. Woah. I present you with a large box of chocolates (Bleepolate may be found in the left corner, if needed).
As you read more and more missions done by one Agent team, you become more attached to them as characters. Also, some Agents will tackle multiple continuums, so a single pair isn't necessarily limited to one canon. I'll be happy to give recommendations if you tell me a few fandoms that you're in.
Anyway, nice to meet you, Pinkie! I'll see you around the Board.

Ooh, chocolate! It doesn't explode, right? Because I think I might be developing a complex about that. I think I listed my main fandoms in my second reply. Emphasis on main, since there's a bunch of things I've read but don't expect to see any PPC fics about (then again, I can't believe there's one for Monster Musume of all things, so maybe I'm wrong). Recommendations would be appreciated, thank you!
I don't think there's a set order you have to read people's spinoffs in, unless you're delving into a PPC-wide event like Crashing Down.
Thanks for stopping by! Here's an apple cupcake and a pack of black pens!
Welcome aBoard! Have this Liminal Bag. It's not a Bag of Holding, it's normal-sized inside, but its content is shared by many other bags across the multiverse. Who knows, maybe you could get something nice out of it some day. Or you could make your very own (really tiny) interdimensional bar! But be careful, there's lots of competition in this field.
I'm not sure if I want to risk putting my hand in there without really thick gloves, but thanks anyway! Out of curiosity, if any potentially volatile foodgoods accidentally went off in there, how well would it contain the explosion? I'm asking for a friend. Who is me.
This magical shovel digs up...
*digdigdig*
"Echt klasse!"
Um. Pokémon with exaggerated German accents. Least it's not a Qwilfish, it's a Sandile.
Wait, why was it in the ground? Are there more of them in there? Should I be concerned?
I don't think that anyone here has that name, but then again, I'm fairly new as well!
Anyway, here are:
1) A life-sized model of a compy from the Jurassic Park continuum,
2) A live dodo bird (Careful of the beak; they bite!)
3) And a Helix Fossil (PRAISE THE HELIX!)
Awwww, it's like a prehistoric chicken--wait what am I supposed to feed it I'm not equipped for this.
Have one of my own shed feathers and a complimentary kit of Spikes!
These are--wow these are sharp that was the very wrong end to hold.
Have some freshly baked cupcakes in all your favorite flavors. You can have red velvet, rainbow, salmon, gunpowder, Iximaz's left ear, and so much more!
Possibly definitely explosive cupcakes! My thanks! There is no way this is going to go wrong, not even a little bit.
The same thing we do every night, Pinky: try to take over the world!
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Anyway, welcome! As a newbie gift, I'd like to have this cup of — no get out of there Pinky!
Dammit.
Pfft, I remember that show. Can I have the teacup, for the possibly explosive coffee and the possibly explosive cupcakes? I'll have a probably explosive tea party (which are the best kind of tea parties), it'll be great.
Of course, you'll be needing your badge back.
You're a loose cannon, but you're a damn good cop.
What's that? Reading pee-pee-cee? German Pokemon? Pinkie getting on toes?
Have I ever told you you're a loose cannon?
I'm going to put that between 'screams really loudly' and 'unusually dedicated to interior decorating during emergencies' on my list of things I'm willfully taking as a compliment.
Heaps where that came from.
Hello, and welcome aBoard! For your newbie gift, take this plate of freshly-made SPaGhetti!
You already answered my usual questions, so may I point you toward Neshomeh's pair of Supernumerary and Ilraen? They're my absolute favorites and like Hardric said, it's usually easier to read by agents rather than by fandom.
Hope you like it here!
Oh my gosh, an Andalite, take all of my yes. Thanks for the advice! And the SPaGhetti, I think.
So you'll always look effortlessly cool!
I shall wear it with honour and unnecessary swooshy flailing!
Welcome! Nice to meet you!
Have a pot of Black Hole coffee. Hope you'll enjoy your stay. There is not articular order beyond readng the Original Series, the Constitution and the Wiki. I recommend reading by agents personally though, not by fandom.
By the way what are your fandoms?
I'm not sure if Black Hole coffee sounds like something potentially explosive or incredibly potent or both. As for my fandoms...wow, that's a broad question. Harry Potter (although I'm not sure who hasn't read that), assorted video games (the Elder Scrolls games and Mass Effect in particular, and off the top of my head there was also things like Undertale, OFF, Portal, L4D and probably a bunch of others I'm forgetting), Homestuck (which I'm honestly surprised isn't more of a thing here, considering its practically a build-a-bear for bad OCs), Doctor Who and Supernatural (although I dropped off the latest seasons because of a sudden onslaught of actual work I'm gleefully ignoring the existence of). I'm probably forgetting something somewhere, but those are the things I've actually written for (although mostly just for laughs). I'm hesitant to list Tolkien’s works, because mostly I just watched the movies and read the Hobbit when I was very, very young and didn't understand half of what was going on. Also, wow, that's an irresponsible amount of parentheses, this is what happens when I don't drink coffee that's probably less likely to explode.
I haven't!
*You can't see it, but I'm grinning very smugly right now.*
I want to though. I simply haven't gotten around to it.
I would quit the smug and make reading the books an emergency.
They're already abused enough like this.
It's not like I don't want to read them - they're on my list, and everyone can unanimously agree that they're good books. The world, too, looks interesting, wands and whatnot being used like technology.
It's just that I have other, smaller books on my reading list, and Harry Potter is a massive, seven book behemoth.
I honestly don't know much about the movieverse. I watched the Azkaban one once when I was a wee lad, and it terrified me. Think I saw a bit of the last one, but it was the second half, and I had no idea what was happening.
To make matters worse, I haven't even read anything Lord of the Rings except for The Hobbit.
Sorry if I seemed rude, or anything like that.
Being sarcastic, and all.
As a very great author once wrote, "The only crime worse than burning books is not reading them."
Don't panic, I'll read them. They're on the list.
And I won't burn them, either.
Yeah, the snark is strong with this one. >:) So is the Law of Narrative Comedy.
I haven't heard it, and I've been lurking about a wee bit longer and I've skimmed over a long list of Boarders. However, as a newbie I'm not the best Boarder to ask. I don't think there's any specific order beyond The Original Series, but there is the Official Fanfiction University of Middle-earth (OFUM) to read, possibly. If you're not into the Tolkienverse then there are some other fanfiction universities also.
All of that aside, welcome shiny newbie! As a welcoming gift I will give you a plate of Various Cheeses. If you're lactose-intolerant, Irrelevant is very sorry. You are truly missing out.
I actually like cheese to an irrational degree, so thank you! I shall consume these shortly after I attain crackers and verify that blue cheese is supposed to look like that and I didn't just take too long on the cracker attainment process. Most of my experience with Tolkienverse comes from the movies and reading the Hobbit when I was young, which mostly just resulted in my attempting to dig a Smial in my backyard. Personally, I think it went well. I'll go look at OFUM in any case, thanks!
Take your time finding the crackers. And savor the cheese. You must savor it for me. Ah, I read the Hobbit when I was young, too but I completely forgot about it and didn't dig anything. I don't understand my younger self sometimes- maybe I was just less insane?
