By Louis Armstrong and Louis Jordan, You Rascal, You, which they have a bloody fantastic time singing.
Even though I know the actual context, I can't help but imagine a maddened, mud-coated agent clutching a flamethrower mumbling this song, replacing all instances of 'wife' with 'lust object.'
Gets real weird at the instrumental bit, I'd imagine.
And, before you ask, yes, Louis Armstrong is that fellow who sang What a Wonderful World, and, no he didn't go to the moon, because he was a jazz musician, and because the moon-landing was faked by the facist American pigs.
Given the fact most of the glitterbags are self-styled 'heroes', We Need A Villain indeed.
I can see an agent gear-up montage set to this tune.

Paying a little visit to DoDAEG.
Time is a funny thing in the PPC. Some agents have been here for only a few short months while some have grown up in the organization... and yet some don't look older at all. From an outside perspective, some might call it limbo.
It's not always about blaring consoles or raging partners or overly dramatic Suvians. Quiet moments do exist at the end of a long, long day.
I think "Exterminate, Regenerate" by Chameleon Circuit fits us and our struggle against Sues perfectly. This one's also on the previous PPC Fanmix (thank you, wiki), but it still applies. Lookin' at you, Aviator
Possibly Cardboard Castles by Watsky.
That opening bit—that's "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega. So weird to find it there. I've heard "Centuries" before and never noticed.

I wish they hadn't put that sample in; the song's fine without it.
First up, "Word Crimes" by Weird Al Yankovic. I think it speaks for itself. (Oh, warning for use of the word "spastic" as a pejorative, which I know bugs some people.)
Next, "I Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd. The girl in this is either a vampire or a Sue, I'm not sure. Either way, it's a terrible idea, dude. Just say no. O.o
I could nominate just about anything by Voltaire, but I think all agents probably feel like this some days: "Screw the Ocampa (I Wanna Go Home)" - warning, NSFW.
Also, pretty much the entire soundtrack from "Once More With Feeling." It's an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that has a demon who forces the residents of Sunnydale to burst into song and dance as though they were in a musical, and they're aware of it. It's one of the most beautiful and perfect things in existence. Here, I'll just give you the first track: "Going Through the Motions." You can find the rest from there, if you're so inclined. (I also recommend the entire series—just have patience through the first season, it gets better.)

"What Have We Got?" by Sting is a rousing song about a hard-working, hard-used band of folk with nothing to count on but trouble and no one to rely on but themselves, who keep on getting up and doing it anyway because, well, what else is there? Sounds like the PPC to me!
It's from a show called The Last Ship, for which I have the soundtrack and desperately want to see performed someday. I like grizzled-old-man!Sting very much.

I mean, I did probably like season three a bit better, but only because the villain actors sold their characters so well. Season two I found pretty boring, with the whole endless drama between Buffy and Angelus. It stretched on too long, I think.
It always feels awkward, getting into such a popular fandom decades after the fact!

There are a lot of episodes in season one that make me cringe for one reason or another. There are good ones, too—the show never would've made it otherwise!—but personally, I started to really enjoy it somewhere in early-to-mid season two.
I admit the romance is a little hard to watch, what with certain modern takes on the thing coloring my perceptions, but at least Buffy did it better, and has the excuse of doing it first.

Anyway, the girl in that really big, Eighties-sounding song? Basically an anthropomorphic personification of cocaine. Thought that might interest you. =]
I wondered, but didn't feel like wondering that hard.
I mean the people who decide what goes on the radio must know this, right? How the heck is this song so popular? I don't understand pop music. I'm just forced to listen to it at work because "the radio is for the customers, not your listening," and I have to be sensitive to "the radio culture" of our customers. Even though they don't have to be there for hours on end and I do.
... Sorry. That all just sorta spilled out. It's frustrating. {= / Anybody else have rules like this at work?

But I'm slowly developing a reputation for being the guy who turns the radio down/off when no one else is in the room. I can't stand the repetitiveness of U.S. radio play. The songs are all so similar.
Plus, songs with lyrics are really distracting to me when I'm trying to work. Depending on my family data plan's state, I prefer to play video game soundtracks off of YouTube in the background.

We'd be listening to mostly Irish folk music; movie, TV, and game soundtracks; some New Age; some classical; and some classic rock. Oh, and really nerdy stuff, like the Pern albums and Steeleye Span's Wintersmith album. ^_^
One of my favorite Pandora playlists is based on the Skyrim and World of Warcraft soundtracks. Simultaneously epic without being overbearing, ambient without being dull, and without distracting lyrics except for the occasional barbarian chorus or Dwarf mountain song. Good writing music. {= )

Was it loud enough to, by way of a completely random example, soundtrack a sizable roller disco? With no recourse to your own jukebox because the selector unit's completely had it? So you are forced to listen to Meghan Traynor's ersatz-retro pastel-hued sugarvomit for hours at a time? Gosh, this totally random example is really spec, innit? =]

I can understand if you're a certain kind of place, so you play a certain kind of music to go with that kind of place, but I dunno why an Italian-style pizza place has to characterize itself with pop music. I can at least turn it down so I can hear people on the phone, though. I think a roller derby might just drive me 'round the twist.

Well, when it comes to albums Riding a Black Unicorn Down the Side of an Erupting Volcano While Drinking from a Chalice Filled with the Laughter of Small Children (I LOVE this name! :D) and Raised by Bats are my favourites.
And yes, "When You're Evil" is a Voltaire classic (and his first song I've heard [in an AMV, but never mind]), but right now my favourite song is... well, there is no one Voltaire song above 'em all, but if I have to list ones I listen to the most, those would be:
- The Beast of Pirates Bay
- Don't Go By the River
- Masquerade
I believe all of them are safe for view.
Unfortunately, I can't say I know Jonathan Coultron. Never heard of him, even. #pleasedon'thurtme
You probably HAVE heard something by Coulton even if you don't know it, since he's the genius behind "Still Alive" from Portal. Here are his songs featured on the existing PPC Soundtrack to get you further acquainted (all work-safe, I think):

I can put a lot down to wacky Aussie humor since I learned you're from there, but this and your "deduction" post really feel more like the actions of a troll. Nobody likes a troll, and it's against the Constitution. It's fine if you can't contribute to everything, but don't actively lower the level of discourse, please?

Which, like I say, I can put down to an irreverent Aussie sense of humor for the most part—and don't get me wrong, I like irreverent Aussie humor! It gave me Farscape, after all, which is my favorite show of all time. But taken too far, it can seem like you're making fun of or deliberately trying to derail the conversation, so just try to moderate it. Maybe include some serious comments with the silly ones? {= )
