Since I restarted mini4wd racing in 2013, my only 1st place was obtained with a car built with these exact materials:

- A chassis originally scrapped for a defect in the gear cover latching, repaired initially for use in a track-cleaning car and then heavily modified for use in a front engine configuration (weight balance reason, and that kind of chassis oddly works better when the motor is running in the "wrong" direction)
- Body, bearings, rear FRP plate, wheels and assorted other parts coming from a car and some spares a coworker gave me (he stopped racing 7-8 years ago... and so all those parts were sitting gatherign dust for that long)
- Rear brake plate modified from one I had improved during a race about a year ago
- Motor and rollers "borrowed" from other cars of mine (of which I'm going to have to buy more)

It was supposed to be only a prototype, and was in fact a rather rough build... but, once worked out some details, it proved to be pretty fast.

So, humble materials can and will obtain spectacular results if used the right way.
