L'Ontario est une province tres belle. Je pense que je suis tres chanceuse d'habiter ici. Et vous aussi!
Alright, hello everybody. I'm Kelpie and I've been a huge fan of the PPC for several years now and I just worked up the courage to finally post on the board. I read the Original Series after hearing about the PPC from somewhere online and I instantly fell in love with the idea of fixing the messed up canons in a humorous way. I'm mostly an anime fan, but I'm working my way through the LotR trilogy (books, of course) at the moment. I enjoy reading and writing as well as drawing, and learning different languages. As an example, I'm currently finishing my first Latin course in school. I'm Canadian (and proud of it!).I hope we all get along!
Glad to hear you've read the Original Series already. Here's a seahorse plushie and a box of Bleeprin! Trust me, you'll need the Bleeprin.
Thank you so much for the Bleeprin and the plushie! And yes, I will need the Bleeprin for sure.
(Hey, better late than never.)
Welcome aBoard! Here, have this bottle of space. From a continuum where space is water. So, uh, a bottle of water, I guess.
Please accept this starter Pokémon:-
Iiiiiiit's Skorupi!
And your starting item is:-
The Hit List from Risk of Rain!
Hit list is a great item for physical sweepers, basically being Moxie in held-item form. However, in Little Cup you have to have a great item to beat out the omnipresent Eviolite, and on Skorupi, Hit List ain't it. Try an Adamant set maximizing Attack and Speed with Poison Jab, X-Scissor, Taunt, and Crunch. You'll have problems with Flying-types, but you might still be able to get somewhere. Have fun! =]
Congratulations on joining the board, a glorious place where dreams come true, assuming your dreams are very unambitious.
My gift to you is: A raw chicken rolled up in clingwrap. Trust me, you'll need it.
I wonder what I'll need the chicken for, but alright. I may as well just douse it in honey, curry powder and mustard then bake it. It will taste good and you can have some too!
Pinched from the TdV continuum - hopefully no vampire gets too upset... *laughs nervously*
I'll be me they'll come after if they want it back....
So yes, I hope they aren't too upset as well. And if not, I'll just try to blend in and hope I'm not too obvious.
For the most part, anyway. Without resorting to GTranslate. Also without speaking French.
That's awesome! I would guess it's because English and French are similar languages. (And GTranslate kind of sucks. Don't use it. It's typically wrong anyways.)
I'm in this RP with a dude RPing Cadmus the Phoenician. He's using GTranslate Hebrew as a stand-in to Phoenician (since the languages are related, ish); it hurts. Admittedly, it's pretty funny sometimes, but it still hurts.
Ooh. That would hurt. That's why it's important to learn a language before using it so you use it right. He could just write in his native language and explain that his character is talking in Phoenician so it would make more sense, but it really just depends on their preference. I know it always hurts for me when someone tries to speak English but butchers it so badly it's almost unrecognizable.
Have one of my own shed feathers and a replica of the One Ring that actually makes you invisible!
Awesome. All I have is a One Ring keychain and the tattoo of the black speech. (Temporary, of course.)
I definitely get how yoy feel. It also took me a while to finally introduce myself around here. But I think you'll find that this just about the warmest and most welcoming community out there. Soon enough, you'll feel that you're already part of us and you'll likely make the most amazing friends you have ever had! So cheers and I hope you enjoy your time around here! :D
And like you, I'm mostly an anime fan. What are your favorite series? Do you like any mahou shoujo shows? Oh, and since you like learning other languages, do you know any Portuguese by any chance. I'm the Brazilian guy that Des mentioned below and that's my first language, so it would be awesome if you did.
Anyway, as for your welcoming gifts, please take this Bag of Holding, so that you can store the truckload of gifts you're getting and also take this Rorschach Book , which can change into virtually any written text in existence in the multiverse. Just close your eyes while holding it, think about what you wanna read, and then blink three times.
I love anime like Hunter x Hunter, KHR, Naruto, Dennou Coil, Madoka Magica, Magi, Rurouni Kenshin and several others.
I do not know any Portuguese, but I know basic Spanish, basic Italian, fluent English and French and a fair understanding of classical Latin. Maybe I need to start learning it...
And as for the book, I really want a Sindarin dictionary.
I love Naruto and Madoka Magica too! And I really, really recommend Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.
Well, it would be awesome if you did start learning it. If you decide on it, feel free to ask me for help! And wow, that's one very impressive set of languages! Besides my first language, I only know English and very basic Spanish.
I've heard good things about that one, and it's on my to-watch list. As for the languages, French and English are practically mandatory here in the frigid north. The others are all for fun, really. What language would you say is the closest to Portuguese? I'm guessing Spanish.
Spanish is pretty close to Portuguese. I can understand a fair bit of it just because of that, except for cases of false tag. But if you know some Spanish, you're already at a good start for learning Portuguese.
I used to speak Spanish fluently, but after not speaking it for around 10 years, I've kind of forgot... At least having learned it before it just makes it that much easier to pick it back up again. Eventually.
Oh well. Hopefully we both will be around here for a while, so if you want to eventually get back to Spanish before getting to Portuguese, I'm here for whenever you want help with the latter.
Awesome. I think I may end up taking you up on that offer at some point. Thanks!
Have a magic shovel that digs up Angelic Hymns Gold LPs!
I... wouldn't play them in Inferno, though. Demons hate how they sound.
As DB16 mentioned, we've people from all sorts of places — I'm from Israel, there's an Italian guy, a couple Canadians, a Brazilian dude, and so on. Most of the people are American or British, though.
Also: here, have this cup of — no get out of there it's for tea not for hamsters, dammit. Oh, well. Take the hamster instead.
Thanks for the hamster! Maybe we could have tea another day when there aren't any small rodents to crawl in teapots?
Welcome to the PPC, Kelpie. And don't worry about your nationality. We have a little bit of a lot of the major countries in the developed world.
Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for the gift. I will love it, and feed it, and watch it until it becomes sentient. And then I'll call it George. Or Julietta. Not quite sure yet. :)
Please have these black-hole chocolates. Hope you're here to stay.
Ooh, black hole chocolates? I wonder what they taste like! And yes, I hope I'm here to stay too!
They contain so much cocoa they suck up light, and since the pure cocoa is only to eat slowly... Just be careful.
Nice to meet you! Have a slice of Infinite Pizza!
Anyhow, welcome. Have you read the constitution? If not, have a cookie. If you have, have a cookie anyways! Scones?
I have read the constitution. And scones would be quite lovely, thank you.
Oh, I wish I could have that infinite pizza. Just watching it regenerate would be amusing enough, but if I could somehow eat it without dying.... now that would be interesting. :)
