Since Aiko, one of my agents, lived in the Nursery for about six years, she will tend to make frequent visits there to help out the staff and spend time with old friends.
I will write this kind of scene in the pre-mission part of my next mission and in a few interludes. I will obviously come up with a few child characters of my own to populate these writings, but I would also like to ask permission from a few of you to use your child characters in those stories, specially from those of you who have a character who has been there for a few years.
I'm not sure how well they would work given your character's age. I guess that's up to you.
The first is Aiden Nil, who came to the Nursery as an infant in 2011 and would be four now (if you're setting your story in late 2015 HST). He is a badfic rescuee and child of mpreg. The second would be Teyala Solnerii, one of the Nursery workers. She primarily deals with the youngest children and newly adoptive parents.
I don't know about Aiden, but I think I will have to use Telaya. Aiko and Henry will probably rescue at least two young child characters in the next mission I'm planning.
Feel free to refer to Henry Robinson, who is six years old himself.
There's also Ian Thomas Horowitz, who's a rescuee from this mission and closer to seven years old, IIRC. He's available for adoption, if you want him. {= )
~Neshomeh
I will have to plan plenty of these interludes and scenes in the Nursery, it seems.
I think I will accept you offer. I would love have to have a child character of my own to write. Of course, I probably will have at least two more of them after my next planned mission, where Aiko and Henry will have to rescue at least two child bit-characters from a really irresponsible orphanage. But yeah, I would like to adopt Ian. :)
And of course, I will be sure to submit any scenes I write with Henry Robinson in them for your approval.
I'm glad he'll have someone to officially look after him—it'd be nice to see him get adopted in-universe, too, but until that happens he's got Agent Ilraen and Nurse Robinson looking in on him occasionally in an unofficial capacity; Ilraen because he feels somewhat responsible for him as the agent who brought him in, and Jenni because he's about the same age as Henry and thus they are friends. As such, he appears with them in the Trick or Treat 2013 RP. Figure you might wanna take a look. {= )
I'll try to revise Aiko's ID tonight or tomorrow, BTW. Sorry I couldn't get to it sooner, but I've been pretty busy the last few days. I'll upload the new version to my Photobucket in place of the old one, so check back the next time you're online.
~Neshomeh
I'll take very good care of him. As for in-universe adopton, as you know, my agents are still quite young and probably not able to become anyone's legal guardian yet. But maybe that could be arranged once I retcon the agents who rescued Aiko and Anju into existence. They were their legal guardians while they were still at the Nursery. It wouldn't be much stretch fo them to become Ian's. But until that happens and even after, I will definitely take Ilraen and Nurse Robinson into account. Maybe we could arrange for a few interlude co-writes involving both my characters and yours visiting the Nursey at the same time.
Thanks for the RP link. That will certainly help me quite a bit. Specially considering that it seems that is the same RP Dawn was talking about earlier in this thread.
Didn't know if you had seen that reply. Thank you. Aside from that minor mistake, the IDs for both of them are quite awesome! :D
Again, sorry it took so long. In addition to being busy, I was hoping Silenthunder would reply with the info for her agents' IDs, so I could work on them all together, but I dunno what happened there. Anyway, all done now, and I'm glad you like them. ^^
I'd love to get a co-write in somewhere. I have vague designs on a little story involving the <a href="http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/SproutMovement">Sprout Movement; maybe that could be a thing. Basically, my idea is that I want Ilraen to get sex-educated, and I thought he could sit in on a Bad Slash achievement badge activity with some of the older kids, with many funny looks and much hilarity abounding. I know doctorlit is interested, too; I just haven't found the time to get around to it yet. {= /
~Neshomeh
Thank you for it fixing it. And that story does sound like a pretty wonderful and hilarious idea. XD
It's not that she was a child in the Nursery, but she was a big part of the entertainment scene there. She's on TV a lot there and, well, while she skews younger, you just always remember the things you grew up watching.
She would probably familiar with the shows, after all. What's the target demographic for those supposed be though? Aiko was already 12 when she arrived. And how would you suggest that I work if I decided to use her in one of the Nursery stories?
Though, technically? So are things like Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and so on. Wobbles does like to wander through the Nursery anyway, but the problem is that she's never out of character. Aiko would probably not appreciate it very much, especially during her teenage years. Clowns are, like, so creepy. =]
Yeah, it probably wouldn't work out very well indeed. Clowns can be indeed very creepy, specially if your home continuum has something like Piedmon in it. By Azulongmon, that guy still gives the creeps just from looking at his DigiWiki page! * shudders *
Still, the PPC is mostly about comedy and a lot of comedy can come from uncomfortable situations. I probably won't do it if I'm writing a scene where Aiko is going to Nursery to cheer herself up and have fun after a particularly bad mission, such as the one I am going to do now, but for the sake of a scene that was done mostly just to be hilarious? I probably could work out something! XD
It's worth pointing out that Wobbles has but one outright berserk button, and that is saying that clowns are scary or creepy. There's a fad for faux-coulrophobia these days and she absolutely despises it.
I will have to keep that In mind if I ever decide to use her. Aiko is probably too nice of a person to say outright say anything that would trigger that berserk button though. And it should go without saying that if I do use I will submit the scene for you to look over before I post it.
And they've been there since mid to late 2011, though they were a six month old and two fetuses at that point. They should be, um, roughly three and four by now? All three are badfic rescues (Torchwood canon, historical mission still in the works--Karen and I want to rewrite what we have, and are both kind of busy with school right now); two are on the wiki, under Seren Sato and Owain Sato, because they appeared in a TYH interlude as well as an rp. Their older sister, Ruby, doesn't have her own page.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure the RP link works anymore. Hopefully, it's archived. I can give you descriptions of personality and so on if you want to use them (which would be pretty cool :) ), but I'd prefer to be able to look over their appearance(s) before you post. Depending on the piece and what's going on IRL at that point, I can act as a general beta as well, if you like. But yeah, the Satos making an appearance sounds like a lot of fun. I'm in with the condition of looking them over :)
~DF
PS: If you've read the interlude--Davey isn't around yet, and probably won't be for a while yet, assuming he does make it into canon. It's just Ruby, Seren, and Owain for now.
They are badfic refugees AND they are also non-canon children of two canons (or at least Seren and Owain are. Would I right to assume that Ruby is also one?), which Aiko has a particular soft spot for because she also is a non-canon daughter of two canons. And if they have been there for the last 4 years she would be quite familiar with them, so that should make for some very nice scenes. :D
It should go without saying that you can look over whatever appearances they make. They are your characters, after all. And I would love to have you as a general beta if you are able to. But yeah, the RP links are indeed not working. So, could you please give me those descriptions?
And wonderful. I just wanted to be sure that came across, since it wasn't mentioned and I didn't want one of us to think it was implied and the other not. As for descriptions...essentially, Owain is given to pouting and having fun, Seren is pretty stubborn, and Ruby can get very charming, but is also, well, tiny. Beyond that, what I know about them is kind of mixed up with how they get when they're older (in terms of interests, looks, and further personality). I'll see what I can dig up for scenes with them--I think I might actually have a chunk of the rp saved, come to think of it. Lemme go search 'green slime' :)
~DF
It would be wonderful if you could find the scenes. I could probably find a way work with you have given me here, but it sure would work out a lot better if I had more information about them.
I am *very* pleased to announce that I've found the scenes in question, archived in the 2014...Archive spreadsheet thing. Basically: Tomash and hS (and anyone else who's involved) are the absolute best ever, and I will be transferring the scenes to a doc of some sort.
And here we go. This is the relevant scene. It's set about a year and a half ago, pretty much; they'll have changed somewhat, and Ruby unfortunately didn't make it in, but that's the scene I was citing on the Wiki page. I'll add it in there now, and eventually probably make a copy of the full thread (to put that scene in context and because it was awesome). I'll also take a look to see if I have any scenes with Ruby in them that aren't major spoilers...
~DF
That is a quite hilarous scene and it does sound like it was an awesome rp, so please do make a full copy of it.
And it also helps me quite a bit. If you do find any spoiler-free scenes containing Ruby, I think I will be all set to write the scene.
I try to use them in the prelude part of my next mission. They should make for a quite cute and funny scene, which should work out nicely since Aiko needs some serious cheering up after her last mission. It also should provide a nice contrast, since the fic in question involves a Suvian orphan and a really irresponsible orphanage.
Until then, though, it's in the 2014 archives on hS' site (pretty sure that's how I got there.) Just search "Owain" in the sheets 'find' function; it'll get you to this post, which is a little ways in (about five posts into that particular thread).
I've got one scene with Ruby that I can make pretty spoiler-free. I'll bill it as extra-canonical for now, since I'm not completely sure if or where it's going in. I'll attach it once I've got the spare time to change it a bit--I'm in my last week of classes and have a test tomorrow, so today (like the previous half a week or so) is not going to work (but I want you to know it's coming).
And that sounds wonderful :) I'm sure they'll be quite happy to cheer up Aiko (insomuch as they understand that she's more than just a little bit sad. Expect Ruby to get that best.
~DF
I will definitely search for it hS' site. And don't worry, you can as much time as you need to send me the scene with Ruby. I'm certainly in no rush. The fic I am missioning this time is 12 chapters long, so it will probably take me a few months to write the thing.
And awesome :D I'm also sure they will be quite able to cheer her up, even if they don't quite (or more likely, at all) get what is going on. Plus, it is likely that she will have to come right back to the Nursery to bring in at least 3 child characters they would have rescued from the badfic, so it's also likely that they might just get a bit more of screen time, so yay for that! :D
They're all three of them uncanonical children of the main characters. That's on their wiki pages, but it bears mentioning.
~DF
I already had read the wiki pages for Seren and Owain, So I already knew they are uncanon children of two canons and I had infered that Ruby was also is one. But thanks for confirming it. I wish had seen this before I replied to your last post, but I was too slow so I didn't see this one until after I replied to that one.
-tricky, especially if you go by email alerts. Ruby is the daughter of Jack and Gwen, since I'm pretty sure it doesn't say that on the wiki pages.
~DF
And yeah, it doesn't say that specifically in the wiki pages, but since both of them mention that they all share at least one parent, that was what I infered.
...doesn't mean she won't visit her old home every once in a while, so I would love to have her meet Aiko! Heck, they could even be rivals due to fandom war if you're okay with that.
I will have to at least beta read every appearance of her's, though. Gotta make sure she stays in character and the like. ^^;
I would love to have them meet as well! And sure, I would be okay with the rivalry. That would be pretty hilarious! XD
We will probably have to save this one for that co-write though. No one better to decide just how badly Lapis would react to Aiko than you, after all. Heck, that even could the prelude to a mission where they forced to work together. One into a particularly horrible Digimon/Pokémon crossover, if only just to milk that conflict for all its worth!
Just one thing one: How the heck do we justify, in-universe, that your agent left the Nursery at the age of 12 while mine arrived at that age and only left after six years?!
I kinda see their rivalry as being more of a friendly one TBH, but I'd still like to see how a co-write involving these two would play out (along with one with Aiko and Falchion, but that's for another day).
And as for the notion of Lapis becoming an agent at 12, I actually have plans to address that in a future mission... Just you wait ;3
I can't see Aiko reacting too badly to a fellow Nursery mate and badfic refugee, specially one who is much younger than her, even if they were to be rivals due to what their respective home continua are. Feel free to mash the 'don't call a Sue just because I'm a non-canon daughter' berserk button when we do make that co-write though.
And I would also love doing a co-write involving Aiko and Falchion. Or if I have actually gotten around to writing one of Anju's missions by then, maybe we could have her and Falchion meet. That would be even better! XD
Well, it seems I will have to eagerly wait for that mission then.
While the child I have there is too young for anything... His adoptive mother, Publica Kurusu, is free to use. I just need to look at the bit she appears in.
I see that she is also a Nursery Worker. I will definitely have to use her at some point. The scene would be much better with a member of the staff present, after all.
You can use Ammy Moss. I haven't written anything with her, since the mission she's from and the epilogue where she's placed in the Nursery, both of which are about 18 months ago, so feel free to make up details if you want.
Mission: https://rc170.wordpress.com/2014/06/12/ski-trip-aka-much-improbable-such-random-wow/
And the epilogue: https://rc170.wordpress.com/2014/06/12/epilogue-02-the-nusery/
If the mission was set 18 months ago, then she should be a toddler by now, which should work out nicely. She's also an uncanon daughter, which Aiko would have a soft spot for due to being one herself.
Are there any details you previously thought about her that I could use?
Real life's been ridiculously busy. I haven't thought of any other details, after all she was only and infant when she was picked up. But her mother was of Latin American ancestry, however badly written, so that will probably be reflected in the way she looks.
That certainly helps me a bit, at least in the description aspect. But even if you hadn't though about any other details before, she's still your character and I assume that at some point you will want use her in your own writing. This really should go without saying, but when I end up using her in one of my stories, I will send it to you first to see if you agree with whatever details I have decided to use.
I didn't really have much planned for her, other than to have Mittens visit her once in a while in interludes. And at the rate my PPC writing have been going lately, Ammy could be a teenager and well on her way to becoming an Agent herself, before she's featured again.
Even if you don't have much planned for me, you still hold the final word on any decisions made about her, so whenever I plan on using her, I will contact you.
