Unless it's being done for comedic effect, agents know the canon they are being sent to. As a rule of thumb, in every agent team there is at least one agents that knows the canon(s) involved — if, for example, Lacksi and Macksi get sent into a Star Wars x Star Trek fic, then if Lacksi doesn't know SW, Macksi does and vice versa. Alternatively, the Pocket Fictionary is a thing. It is also popular to have agents contact friends, acquaintances or just random persons for help if they get a mission to a canon they don't know.

Also, question (might be on the paranoid side. Again, tired, apologies if I'm reading things into your post or offending — definitely not my aim here): you're not planning on writing PPC missions without Permission, are you now?
