There may have been notes when I was still half-dreaming, but it's really hard to hang onto them when I wake up. I've only managed it a couple of times, and then only snippets, and in this case I only salvaged the words. Maybe you tapped into my subconscious? *g*

I woke up with the chorus for one in my head:
For every tall tale wants a flagon of ale
And every brave deed needs a tankard of mead
Love stories are fine with a glass of red wine
Oh, adventuring's thi-irsty work!
I feel like this is probably sung by bards who want people to buy them drinks. Each verse would be a little story of a hero who almost succeeded, but failed comically due to crippling thirst. I doubt I'll develop it myself, though, so if you're interested, have at it!

But there's no reason why they couldn't be connected. Could be them building the party - Obligatory Hot Elf Chick Archer, dashing human bard crossclassed with love rat, big fat dwarf fighter, &c. =]
Ahhh, who doesn't enjoy a good drinking song. How's this for a first attempt? I'll wait until I've had a few more ales before recording it with sound.

I love the idea of multiple people contributing verses. If y'all come up with enough of these, I will knock them together into the same prosodic form, and it'll be a thing. ^_^

If I tapped into your subconscious that explains the odd thoughts I've been having about playing LEGO with a T-rex. Must be your fault.
Inspired by the unfortunate Thomas Thetcher, whose gravestone is on a postcard down in the lab, this is probably a late addition to the song, since it doesn't quite fit the theme. But I felt I had to do it regardless. ^_^
Young Tom was a fighter who marched off to war

(I've tried to match the meter pretty closely, but I'm sure I missed a couple. Also I'm not sure I should even be matching the verse to the chorus... also I've never sung a drinking song. But look! I'm participating!)

I think the chorus can probably be tweaked to fit each verse. The fun thing about a song like this is that it's almost certainly different depending on who's singing it, so there's no wrong way to do it. That's a fantastic story, and I love it. ^_^
